Azur Air is one of the smaller Russian carriers. The company's field of activity is the performance of air flights from Russian settlements to popular tourist destinations abroad of a seasonal nature.
History
Azur Air is a low-cost domestic charter carrier. It is based at the large Russian airport Domodedovo and is part of the Anex Tourism Group holding company.
It appeared in the field of civil aviation not so long ago - in December 2014. It arose on the basis of the Katekavia company, and its area of specialization was air transportation in the Volga and Siberian regions.
The entire former aircraft fleet of the Katekavia company was transferred to the Turukhan enterprise. The first own aircraft - Boeing 757-200 - was also received by Azur Air in 2014. In the same year, on December 17, the first flight was made to Sharm el-Sheikh Airport.
During 2015, the fleet was increased to 14 aircraft. Until 2015, Azur Air was a subsidiary of the domestic air carrier UTair. But in March of the same year, the lastcompletely sells the shares of Katekavia, and the company becomes independent. Last fall, the name of the legal entity was renamed and the existing air operator certificate was replaced.
From February 2016, Azur Air received permission from the Federal Agency "Rosaviatsiya" for regular flights on international routes.

The only accident in the history of the company occurred on February 26, 2016. A Boeing-767 aircraft, flying in the Moscow-Phuket direction from the capital's Domodedovo airport, made an emergency landing at the Tashkent airfield.
