Each has eleven high-rise towers. The style of the gates of the city is Stalinist classicism. On the upper tiers of each building there are sculptures of Red Army soldiers, workers and peasants, each reaching a height of 3.5 meters.

One of the towers houses the clock, which is the largest in the country. The dial is over 3.5 meters in diameter. The watch itself is over a hundred years old. They were delivered to Belarus from Germany during the Great Patriotic War. On the second tower, instead of a clock, there is the emblem of the BSSR of the same size.

The gates of the city are located on the Station Square.

Unusual library-museum

The National Library of Belarus appeared only ten years ago. Looking at it, you can not immediately understand what is in front of you. The building is designed in a futuristic style and resembles a complex geometric figure in the shape of a diamond. The height of the library is as much as 73.6 meters, which equals 23 floors. The weight of the structure without books is 115 thousand tons. The total building area is 19.5 thousand square meters.

The façade of the library is made of materials such as heat-reflecting mirror glass and aluminum structures. The shape of the diamond was chosen for a reason. This is a symbol that means human knowledge. The special construction technology allowscreate the mode necessary for the preservation of books.

At the very top of the library is an observation deck that offers a panoramic view of the city. Downstairs there are reading rooms that occupy three floors. Each has access to a beautiful garden. Manor in Loshitsa

If you want to feel the spirit of antiquity, then you should go to Loshitsa. It is here that the famous manor and park complex of the same name is located, which belongs to the monuments of art of the 18th century. Initially, there was a small estate Loshitsa. But in the second half of the 18th century, Stanislav Prushinsky, a holder of Polish orders, rebuilt it and turned it into a large residence.

The estate and park complex consists of a large park in which specimens of trees brought from different countries and planted by the owner of the estate, Evstafiy Lyubansky, still grow. There are chapels, houses of the housekeeper of the water mill, buildings of the distillery, outbuildings, a gate, a pond and the manor house itself, which includes two buildings. First- wooden one-story, and the second - stone two-story.

Loshitsa's estate has been reconstructed for more than ten years. Now it is reopened for visits.

Minsk Botanical Garden

Interesting places in Minsk are, of course, the local botanical garden. It was built in 1932. Its area is 153 hectares, which allows us to call the Minsk Botanical Garden the largest in the world.

In such a large area, more than ten thousand plants have found a place. Here you can walk on your own or book a tour for groups. Everything for recreation is provided on the territory: areas with benches, gazebos, summer cafes and toilets. And the botanical garden of Minsk is a place where serious scientific work is carried out related to the study and conservation of plants.

Among the monuments to famous personalities such as Taras Shevchenko, Francysk Skaryna, Yanka Kupala, Yakub Kolas, Somin Budny, Vasily Tyapinsky, Maxim Bogdanovich, Adam Mickevich, Yazep Drozdovich and so on, there are very interesting, sometimes even unusual.

For example, in Mikhailovsky Square you can see full-length sculptures of a girl under an umbrella, a woman on a bench and a passer-by. Even around the city you can see monuments to ballerinas, a photographer, a pregnant woman, a postman, a bath attendant, Baron Munchausen, sculptures of a grandmother with seeds, a lady with a dog, a lighter, a girl with an owl. One of the most interesting is the monument dedicated to shopaholics, which is located at the entrance to the Central Department Store.
