One of the largest and fastest developing countries in Asia is Kazakhstan, whose capital, Astana, has become one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

The history of this city dates back to 1830. It was then that a fortress was built on the banks of the Ishim River, which eventually turned into a city. Colonel Fyodor Kuzmich Shubin is considered to be its founder. The city was named Akmolinsk, which it bore until 1961. At this time, the struggle for the development of virgin lands began, and Akmolinsk became the center of this sowing "battle". The Soviet government renamed it Tselinograd, and Kazakhstan, whose capital at that time was in Alma-Ata, acquired another large city, where the leadership of the republic and the Soviet Union invested heavily. In 1992, the name of the city underwent another change: now it was called Akmola.

The city was the second largest and most important in Kazakhstan until 1998. The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, in June 1998, by his decree, renamed Akmola to Astana and transferred all state and financial facilities from Alma-Ata to Astana, making this city the capital of the state.
