Mysterious incidents in Shushmore

Shushmorskaya anomalous zone became famous as the "Bermuda Triangle of the Moscow Region", where people disappear every year. The tract is located in forests and swamps on the border of the Moscow and Vladimir regions, named after the river flowing nearby, and is one of the mysteries that remain unsolved to this day, attracting the attention of scientists, tourists and lovers of the unknown.

Unravel the riddle and mystery of the Shushmora tract, many seek to understand the causes of inexplicable deaths and disappearances of people, strange and incomprehensible incidents. Many of those who dare to visitthis place, never came back. Others, who were more fortunate, returned without finding anything. And today more and more expeditions are sent there, but no one has yet been able to find exact answers.

History of the tract Shushmor

According to one version, the name of the tract was in honor of the river; according to another, many "bad" places have a similar root in the name. The first any mention of Shushmore dates back to the XII-XIII century.

However, the strangeness of this place was first discovered only in 1885, when people began to disappear not far from the forest, during repairs on the Kolomensky tract. Then the county Pokrovskaya police could not find anything at all. Surprisingly, carts, trade and resettlement carts also disappeared: in 1887, four carts with people disappeared, in 1893, a postman, in 1896, a surveyor with a cart and a driver, and a year later, 2 peasants. According to some reports, from 1885 to 1920. there have been at least 20 disappearances on different roads.

After the revolution of 1917, the road was no longer used, a road was laid in another area - for some period there were no more disappearances. However, already at the end of the 50s of the XX century, a group of tourists disappeared without a trace in the same place.

In 1971, geophysicists discovered a magnetic anomaly here, and it was then that comparisons with the Bermuda Triangle began to appear.

Natural Anomalies

The forest in which the tract itself is located is filled with plants and mutant animals. A large number of trees in the Shushmor tract (photo below) have a strange curved shape, giant snakes are found in the forest.

So, in the 1970s, teacher N. Akimov, together with his students, went in search of the tract, which were not crowned with success, but they saw square birches, aspens and two-meter ferns, trees fused with trunks, striking them with their size. Even the biggest skeptics cannot refute the existence of the mystery of the Shushmor tract, taking into account eyewitness accounts.

According to the stories of local residents, here you can meet black snakes of gigantic size, but so far no one has been able to photograph them. Therefore, despite the existence of natural anomalies, strange and inexplicable incidents, no material evidence has been found.

Sanctuary

One of the secrets of the Shushmor tract is the existence of an ancient stone structure, consisting of a granite hemisphere up to 6 meters wide, surrounded by megaliths. In appearance, it is often compared to Stonehenge.

One of the first geographers who described this area was the famous traveler and explorer Pyotr Semyonov-Tyan-Shansky, who visited these places in the 19th century. However, he did not indicate the exact location of the sanctuary, and so far none of the scientific expeditions have been able to find it.

The purpose of the Shushmor megaliths has not yet been established, but according to scientists, they could be used for several purposes:

  • performing sacrifices (including human sacrifices);
  • performing magical rituals;
  • performing pagan rites.

The megaliths of the tract are classified according to the stories of witnesses into three types:

  • a stone hemisphere of incomprehensible purpose, clearly made by human hands, 6 m in size;
  • pillars with inscriptions, reminiscent of pagan deities and snakes;
  • Serpent stone is a block located in the middle of the swamp, which is credited with magical properties.

Theories and legends

The complex of megaliths is considered to be an ancient pagan temple. According to the local historian V. Kazakov, stone pillars in the tract Shushmor (Ushmor) in the Moscow region were erected in 2000 BC. Lake Tribe people. Inside the complex was an altar where people worshiped the snake god Uru, who owned magic and forbidden knowledge.

This theory was created by V. Kazakov, and scientists believe that the ritual “Serpent Stone”, which was found not far from the village, is its confirmation. Shatur (“Shat” is translated as “a small hill”, and “Ur” is the lord of snakes). However, this theory is not capable of explaining all mystical and mysterious phenomena.

According to local legend, in these forests there is an ancient burial place in the form of a hill made of stones, in which one of the commanders of the famous Batu Khan rests along with soldiers. The army died in the Shatura swamps on the way to Vladimir, and since that time the spirit of the khan has been angry and throws furious lightning. Maybe this legend explains some of the mysteries and the existence of dark forces in Shushmore?

Tract Shushmor: morea few secrets

Besides natural mutants, mysterious buildings and disappearances of people, there are other mysteries in the Shushmor tract. One of them is a glow that is most often seen somewhere between Pustosh and Baksheev.

For the first time in 1964, a traveler walking through the forest witnessed the appearance of a spherical glow in the night sky. After a while, the light began to gradually fade, until finally it went out, revealing the starry sky. Another witness saw this phenomenon in 1968. Later it turned out that the famous traveler Thor Heyerdahl and his team in the Atlantic Ocean became eyewitnesses of a similar mysterious glow.

In the last decade of the 20th century, several more tourists and locals spoke of the mysterious glow in the area.

Another attraction is Lake Smerdyacheye (the name was given because of the terrible hydrogen sulfide smell of water), near which the compass always shows an inaccurate direction: the arrow deviates 15-20 degrees alternately to the east or west.

Great interest among scientists is Lake. White, in which they still cannot find the bottom: the attempts of divers and underwater researchers have not yet been successful. Ufologists explain this by the presence of a deep crack formed as a result of the fall of a space object to Earth (a meteorite or an alien ship).

Shushmore Researchers

People are always attracted by mystery, so it is not surprising that many travelers and scientists were interested in these mysterious places. Those whotraveled to the Shushmor tract were always amazed and returned with amazing stories in which they described a mysterious and frightening atmosphere.

Akimov's expedition in the 1970s combed the forests of Shatura. There is evidence that they found a mysterious megalithic complex. However, there is no description of the temple, altar, boulder or pillars in the official records. But it is often said that the closer they came to Shushmore, the more anomalous plants they encountered, and the harder it was to go because of the strange oppressive atmosphere of the place itself. And this is not the first and not the last evidence that Shushmor himself seemed to be trying to prevent the traveler from coming close.

In 1998, a group of researchers led by A. Lipkin was looking for a mysterious tract, they were helped by local ufologists (A. Perepelitsyn's group fromSergiev Posad), but they did not achieve positive results.

Publications about Shushmore in the press

For the first time, the Shushmor tract as an anomalous place in Russia appeared on the pages of newspapers and magazines back in the 1990s thanks to the popular ethnographerA. Lipkin, who collected all the materials on this issue. The information that he published was subsequently included in the majority of ethnographic encyclopedic dictionaries in Russia. At the end of the 20th and beginning of the 19th century, a number of articles on this subject were published.

To date, many tourists have been there. There are various research groups that, perhaps even at this moment, are trying to solve the riddle once again. For example, a team of enthusiasts called "Geo Shushmor", withhead D. Barskov, a local historian by education: they went through the entire forest up and down, found various stones, boulders, which, perhaps, are fragments of a pagan temple.

Other mysterious disappearances in the woods

The Shushmor tract itself is not the only mysterious place in Russia. So, at the beginning of the 20th century, similar disappearances of people were recorded on the Volokolamsko-Tversky tract, located near the Lama River (the number of victims was about 20 people).

Among those who disappeared here are cart drivers and a few convoys. Local justice authorities each time searched all the surroundings, but not a single trace of the missing or the perpetrators was found. Local residents answered all the questions of the police, and later the police, that the missing, most likely, went to the Shushmora swamps, and there “death happened to everyone.”

Most likely, the coincidence in the names arose for a reason. Some scholars suggest that the word "Shushmor" in ancient times became the name for all the terrible and disastrous places where inexplicable incidents occurred that brought death or disappearance of people.

Scientists explain mysteries

Esoteric and scientific figures have been trying for many years to give explanations and express their views on the events taking place in the Shushmor tract. So, back in the 90s, geophysicists described anomalous fluctuations of magnetic fields in this territory. The epicenter of all mysterious phenomena (glows, natural anomalies, etc.) wasrecognized as a powerful geomagnetic zone.

The old-timers of these places in the stories mention incomprehensible optical and natural phenomena (gigantism and ugliness of plants, the appearance of huge snakes, etc.), the existence of a mysterious temple dedicated to pagan gods among impenetrable swamps and forests. The last evidence of the existence of a stone hemisphere was the story of a hunter from Shatura, who in the 1990s described the stone itself and the image on the pillars of a writhing huge snake.

Official science explains the disappearances of people by the fact that in these places since ancient times there were "robber shelters" that robbed rich convoys and killed people. Also, the loss of people could happen due to the fact that in the anomalous zone they had a clouding of their mind and loss of orientation on the ground, which led to death in peat bogs.

Some esoteric scientists, trying to unravel the mystery of the tract, explain the oddities by the presence of aliens, while others are sure of the existence of a parallel world in the tract Shushmor, which sends goblins, evil spirits and the king of snakes Ura himself. One of the legends interprets the presence of a stone hemisphere as a place where the treasures of the “Gorynych Serpent” are stored.

Ufological and search expeditions in this zone have been taking place since the 1970s, however, they could not find any temple.

Location of the tract

The mysterious Shushmor tract is not marked on any of the geographical maps of Russia. In a note in the Encyclopedia of Mysterious Places in Russia (2006), its exact location is not indicated. Bypublications in the press, this place is designated as a vast territory on the border between the Moscow and Vladimir regions on the right bank of the river. Klyazma. These places are adjacent to the Meshchera National Park zone.

According to the approximate coordinates given by travelers, the tract is a square area of 10-15 km on each side, located north of the village of Pustosha. Closest to this zone is the village. Urshelsky, which can be reached by train from the Kazansky railway station (go to Cherusy). Then you need to go by bus or minibus to the village. Wasteland, then walk north 10 km.

The mystery of the Shushmora tract has not yet been solved, but maybe the next generations of travelers and scientists will be able to discover it.
