The magnificent park of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg is located in the north-west of the city, not far from the Nevskaya lowland. Primorsky Prospekt and Primorskoye Highway adjoin the park from the north, and it borders on Yachtnaya Street in the east. Its foundation in 1995 was timed to coincide with the anniversary date (three centuries) since the founding of one of the most beautiful cities in the world - St. Petersburg.
Roads to the resting place
The 300th Anniversary Park has become a favorite place for leisure activities and a platform for various entertainments for many Petersburgers and guests of the city.
How to get there:
- from the Staraya Derevnya metro station you can take minibus No. 232, bus No. 93 and tram No. 19;
- from "Komendantsky Prospekt" by bus number 134;
- from the "Chernaya Rechka" by tram number 48 and fixed-route taxi number 132;
- from Pionerskaya by bus 93.
Embodiment of architectural ideas
Compositional idea put by the architects of the project into the park300th anniversary, is an allegory of the three-century development of St. Petersburg with the St. Petersburg "trident". In its central part, there is a fountain with a pool and a granite 22-meter lighthouse, to which a paved central alley leads. The granite embankment of the park is a continuation of other Neva embankments, replete with descending steps of the amphitheater and viewing platforms. The total area of the youngest St. Petersburg park is about 91 hectares.
The waste lands that were previously on this site, subjected to regular flooding, were cultivated. The coastline was backfilled and reinforced, and a fence was installed along it. On the territory of the park, work was carried out to organize storm sewers and lay out lawns and parterres.
Green Jewels
The 300th Anniversary Park is very symbolically decorated with 300 copies:
- valuable species of trees (donated by public and educational institutions);
- ornamental apple trees (donated by Finland);
- a variety of trees and shrubs (presented as a gift by guests of honor and builders of the park, representatives of sister cities and heads of constituent entities of the Russian Federation).
In addition, the German savings park donated 70 linden trees. Growing green spaces, gaining beauty and strength, will contribute to the development of good neighborly relations and improve the ecological situation of this charismatic city. But most importantly, growing more and more, young seedlings form a holisticperception of this still young coastal park ensemble.
Day of Russia in the park of the 300th anniversary
Large-scale celebrations take place during Russia Day, celebrated annually on June 12th. The 300th Anniversary Park offers a varied musical and special military sports program, in which anyone, from a child to an adult, can take part. Such events are designed to promote the revival of patriotic feelings and national pride, educating young citizens of Russia to realize themselves as an integral part of a great state.
For outdoor activities in the park, you can freely find sports equipment, sun loungers and even towels for free rent. On June 12, the 300th Anniversary Park provides an opportunity for all lovers of extreme sports and water activities, modern music and outdoor recreation to get a lot of unforgettable experiences at the BeeKiteCamp festival. The varied festival program offers entertainment for every taste: from electronic music and an exciting show by kite surfers to training classes by kite trainers and kite flying. For everyone who wants to relax in a relaxed atmosphere and have a bite to eat, a “restaurant courtyard” is open, in which many cafes and bars hospitably open their doors to their visitors.
Beach fun
A fairly well-groomed sandy beach with incredibly clean fine-grained sand and a picturesque bay is located in the central part of the 300th anniversary park (St. Petersburg). The park greets visitors with heady sea air and a relaxing environment, thanks to which Petersburgers have already dubbed it the local Miami. Sunny days are a great opportunity for friendly companies to sunbathe on the coast of the Gulf of Finland, play beach volleyball, and ride rented bikes or segways.
Fun and beneficial for body and soul, you can spend your free time on the beach, which is about 1 km long and 100 m wide.
A fly in the ointment for a beach holiday
Bathing in the cold and muddy waters of the Neva, which flows into the Gulf of Finland, is officially prohibited. Often, oil-oil stains are clearly visible on the water surface, most likely due to the rather rapid movement of various ships and barges. However, in sunny and hot weather, all prohibitive measures are not effective: people, languishing from the heat, frolic and flounder, despite any warnings and threats.
A significant drawback of the local beach holiday is the lack of toilets; the nearest one, located in a shopping complex, can be reached in only a quarter of an hour of brisk walking.
The beauty of photographic sketches
The 300th Anniversary Park serves as an excellent platform for photo reports and sketches. Stunning views of the brand new seaport for passenger ships, which are quite often moored by small yachts and luxury cruise liners, fascinate in scale.
It is becoming a tradition for newlyweds to hold wedding photo shoots against the backdrop of amazing flower lawns, alleys, local attractions and seascapes, with which they are lured by the 300th Anniversary Park. Photos can turn out to be funny and lyrical, lovingly mysterious and a little sad, often being a reflection of not only the surrounding atmosphere, but also some kind of “inner entourage”.
Believing in happiness is so easy
In March 2012, a three-meter statue of Francisco da Miranda appeared in the park, presented by Hugo Chavez for his birthday to the Venezuelan national hero who fought for the liberation of the Spanish colonies. At the end of the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds make a pilgrimage to this monument, located not far from the registry office (Staroderevenskaya street). Not only the newlyweds, but also their numerous guests, with particular enthusiasm and zeal, try to rub the shoe of the famous Spaniard's left foot, which promises them a cloudless family life in the future.
The attractive force of the sculptural Francisco is in its fresh novelty, which distinguishes it from many similar talismans in St. Petersburg. The rest of the monuments have already partially lost the power of their magic, giving happiness to many dreamers who passionately believe in a miracle.
Aquapark activities galore
Another water entertainment and place for an enchanting holiday is the Piterland water park, which undoubtedly adorns both the 300th anniversary park and the Russian metropolis. This institution is crowned with the highest dome in the world, incomparable with its kind, the height of which is about45 meters. This fact is quite consistent with the ambitious plans of its founders who want to capture the water park in the Guinness Book of Records. Thanks to the UV film covering the dome, sunbathers can sunbathe throughout the year. And in winter, you can realize the most irrepressible fantasies about a sunny beach, which can be realized in the local water park.
The area of "Piterland", exceeding 25 thousand m22, allows you to freely place on its territory both water slides (with objects of various complexity and configuration), and a huge wave pool, and diving and surfing schools (for beginners), and many other attractions.
For the most comfortable pastime of visitors of all ages, the shopping and entertainment complex offers cafes, bars and restaurants, saunas and massage rooms, a tennis club and a children's mini-park.
Sculptural masterpieces
One of the most interesting and grandiose events taking place in the park is the sand sculpture festival.
Many visitors and people with artistic inclinations are attracted by a very significant event - the Sand Sculpture Festival, which represents the 300th Anniversary Park. Sand sculptures captivate with a sense of their amazing inviolability, recreating in reality children's dreams about the magical castles of ancient Egypt, fabulous and outlandish animals, epic and cinematic characters, as well as the visual embodiment of other exciting stories. Special secretthe preservation of amazing works from such a fragile material - in the use of special sand, coated on top with PVA glue. Petersburgers and guests of the city look at and discuss the stunning Disney Castle with euphoric delight. Its seven-meter height and two-meter walls with tower buildings on an area of over 2000 m2 can impress even the most sophisticated viewer.
Pillow fights
A very merry summer massacre is planned for the end of August (the 30th) of this year… with pillows. Everyone will be able to throw these bedding at each other, divided into two opposing teams. The only criterion for getting into a particular company will be the date of birth: even (for the White team) and odd (for the Black team). The event threatens to turn into a fluffy feather snowstorm, under which almost the entire park of the 300th anniversary (St. Petersburg) will hide. The park, in general, tries to fulfill children's dreams. For example, in June, young builders enthusiastically built a cardboard city, building their own houses with unusual design and construction ideas in their favorite colors.
300th Anniversary Park in winter
Great events are regularly held in the winter time, capable of making the sparkling frosty air warm with sincere smiles and extremely frisky entertainment. At the traditional Maslenitsa festivities, you can ride a wooden sleigh, personally participate in quite serious fistfights and other events that the 300th Anniversary Park offers its visitors. The site www.vashdosug.ru provides a huge amount of information, covering alreadypast events and talking about the most interesting plans in the park recreation area.
