WWII

In 1942, the boat went on its first trip. But the Germans set up a special anti-submarine net, and Narodovolets got entangled in it. Since the net was steel, the submariners had to extricate the ship from it for two whole days. Then the boat approached Bornholm. In October, she sent an enemy ship called the Jacobus Fritzen to the bottom. A few days later, a boat attacked and severely damaged a sea ferry.

After WWII

After the war was over, the submarine "Narodovolets" served in the B altic Fleet. It was disarmed only in 1956, and then it became a training station. In 1989the government decided that it was necessary to create a special complex dedicated to the heroic submariners of the Second World War. The Bureau of Marine Engineering took up the development of the complex. In the same year, the ship was installed as a memorial museum, since it belonged to the submarines of the Second World War. In 1993, museum expositions were opened there with the participation of the first persons of the Russian state.

There is an extension not far from the ticket office, there are exhibits. An interesting fact is that the Narodovolets submarine was built, but there were no torpedoes for it yet. Therefore, there were adapters on the torpedo tubes for the use of old torpedoes. When the Decembrists were designed, they took into account the safety of the crew: they created a specially designed complex designed to save the crew members. The first domestic diesel installations are installed on the boat.

For clarity, there are mannequins in some rooms. You can come on your own, although it is recommended to take a tour or join a group as it will be more interesting with a guide.
