Sig Lake is a unique and beautiful body of water in the Tver region. It is located in the Ostashkovsky district, just 9 km from the regional center. In order to get to these places, surrounded by magnificent nature, you need to move south from Ostashkov. The lake has become popular due to the rich catches. Almost all the fishermen of the region come to this reservoir to fish.
Description of the lake
Lake Sig (Tver region) is elongated from the northwest to the southeast. The water area has an oval shape. It is part of the Upper Volga Lakes group. Sig is one of the most beautiful. The nearest reservoir of this group is Seliger. It is believed that in the past Sig was a large reach of Seliger.
The total area of the lake is 27.3 square meters. km. The bottom is composed of sandy deposits, there are no serious rifts, it is even. The average depth of the lake is 4-5 m. The small river Sigovka, a little over 8 km long, flows into the lake. It connects lakes Sig and Seliger. Also, several small streams flow into the reservoir.

The plane was never raised, and it is still in the center of the lake. Sig Lake is about 200 km away from the regional center (Tver). This distance can be overcome both by car and by train. To get to the lake, you need to drive to the city of Ostashkov, and from there go towards the city of Peno. Here you need to be careful and not miss the turn to the left, to the village of Zamoshye. Having passed this settlement, you need to get to the village of Ivanova Gora. It is located on the western shore of the reservoir.
