History of the embankment

In the 16th century, the Aluston fortress was erected by the Genoese on the site of modern Alushta. Initially, the city, which was called Lusta, began to grow around Aluston. At that time there was a pier on the site of the modern embankment. Gradually, Lusta gained great commercial importance.

After the conquest of the Crimea by the Turks, Alushta ceased to be a trading city and turned into a small settlement on the ruins of the Genoese fortress. During the Crimean War, Turkish troops landed here, and a serious battle took place on the territory of the settlement. It was in it that the future Field Marshal M. Kutuzov was wounded.

Until the end of the 19th century, there was no need to talk about the existence of the Alushta embankment. She was rebuilding for a long time.

A devastating storm that occurred in the winter at the end of 1940 had a great influence on the appearance of the embankment. The peculiarity of the city is that on its outskirts it is very quiet and calm, and as you approach the sea, more and more revival begins. Such is modern Alushta. Naberezhnaya Street is always crowded with tourists' cars, so parking here is quite difficult. Sometimes visitors have to leave their cars in the professor's corner, but this is just an excuse to stroll along the entire embankment and enjoy its beauty.

There are also free beaches. The sea here is very clean. The bottom is flat, there are beaches where the depth increases gradually, where you can have a good rest with children.
