Traveling around Abkhazia, you can visit many interesting places. One of them is a unique thermal spring on the outskirts of the village of Kyndyg. Fans of a comfortable "five-star" holiday will not get pleasure here, because the village was damaged during the hostilities in 1992-1993, and since the independence of Abkhazia has not yet been recognized, the infrastructure has not been restored. However, savage tourists will definitely be satisfied. After all, the Kyndyg hot spring not only pleases the eye with the beauty of the surrounding nature, but also allows you to improve your he alth. Those who have already been to these places tend to come here again.
How to get to the Kyndyg spring?
You can visit the Kyndyg hot springs both independently and as part of an excursion. Moreover, it is not necessary to have personal transport or catch a private trader. It is quite possible to get by minibuses or buses,which go in the direction of Ochamchira, Gala or Tkvarchala. The journey from the highway to the destination will take no more than 15 minutes.
The distance from Sukhum to Kandyg is about 35 km. The road is good, the route is not loaded, and traffic jams here, probably, have not been heard at all. Another option on how to get to the Kyndyg hot spring is to sign up for an organized tourist trip. There are quite a lot of excursion routes, including visits to thermal springs, in Abkhazia.
What is the use of the source?
Kyndyg hot spring is a kind of natural he alth complex. The temperature of the key, beating from the ground, is almost 100 °C. Several fonts are equipped next to the springs, into which mineral (chloride-calcium-sodium) water is supplied through thirteen long gutters. On the way to the fonts, the water has time to cool down to 40-45 ° C, but remains warm enough for relaxing baths. Some gutters are used by vacationers for hydromassage. Nearby you can collect healing mud.
There is some amount of radon and hydrogen sulfide in clear colorless water. In addition, the composition includes a large number of trace elements. The average mineralization of water in the Kyndyg hot spring is 6.0 g/l.
Hydrogen sulfide, which is contained in the waters of the geyser, causes a number of positive reactions. It penetrates the skin and affects tissue cells. As a result of this exposure, the skin turns red, blood vessels dilate, blood circulation accelerates, the number of functioning capillariesis getting bigger. After a sharp rush of blood, it returns to the internal organs. As a result of a change in hemodynamics, cells are excited in the tissue structures of organs, their nutrition improves and recovery is accelerated. About 97% of patients who underwent a course of procedures at the Kyndyg hot spring noted an improvement in their he alth and even complete relief from the disease.
Indications for visiting
Before visiting the Kyndyg hot spring (Abkhazia), you should consult with your doctor. Indications for taking hydrogen sulfide baths, hydromassage and mud therapy are the following problems:
- diseases of the digestive system, including gastritis, peptic ulcer (stomach and duodenum), pancreatitis and cholecystitis;
- large list of diseases of the cardiovascular system, including cardiosclerosis, coronary insufficiency, hypertension, VSD, varicose veins and many other diagnoses;
- diseases of the musculoskeletal system, such as arthritis, arthrosis, polyarthritis, osteochondrosis and others;
- diseases associated with the nervous system, that is, paralysis, traumatic brain injury, neuritis, sciatica, neurosis, sleep problems, and so on;
- dermatological diseases, including dermatitis, dermatosis, eczema, psoriasis, fungal infections and lichen;
- diseases of the urogenital area, including infertility, inflammation of the ovaries, cervical erosion, urethritis, prostatitis, impotence and others.
In addition, the wellness course helps to eliminate the effects of radioactive exposure and strengthen the hair root system. In total, the course is required to take from 10 to 15 procedures, after each procedure the patient needs to rest for at least 2 hours.
Contraindications
Despite the miraculous power of the "natural clinic", there are a number of contraindications for taking wellness procedures:
- absolute contraindication is the presence of cancer;
- it is impossible to carry out procedures for blood diseases;
- it is forbidden to use baths and hydromassages for heart disease with decompensation;
- Tuberculosis treatment should not be taken.
Restrictions for patients with the above diagnoses are very strict. That is why you should consult with specialists before traveling so as not to worsen your condition.
And a few more reasons…
Visitors of Kyndyg get not only the opportunity to take a he alth course at thermal springs. Far from the blessings of civilization, you can enjoy the silence, put down your phones and tablets, breathe fresh air saturated with eucalyptus vapors. The fact is that a relict eucalyptus forest grows around the village. And from here it is very close to the sea.
You can stay in the old boarding house "Eucalyptus Grove" or use the services of the private sector. The underdeveloped infrastructure of Kyndyg is fully compensated by the hospitality andhospitality of its inhabitants.
