Traveling in the Urals, I want not only to visit famous large cities, but also to admire the amazing beauty of endless forests and numerous rivers. Local attractions also include hot springs of the Sverdlovsk region: Turinsk, recreation centers "Verkhniy Bor" and "Forget-Me-Not".
Sources of the Urals
The Ural Mountains are famous all over the world thanks to Bazhov's wonderful tales. Arriving in this blessed land, you just want to look into the bottomless caves, find your emeralds and sapphires, or maybe accidentally run into the Mistress of the Copper Mountain herself.
Taking a hot bath, looking at the bottomless blue sky and feeling the touch of a warm breeze - what could be better? And if there is also snow around … It's just breathtaking from such a miracle! This miracle is called a hot spring. Turinsk is its location.
From history
The Ural town of Turinsk has been known in chronicles since the 16th century. In one of the villages of the region, on the banks of the Tura, the famous battle between Yermak and Yepancha, the Tatar prince, took place. The battle brought Yermakvictory, and he went further, to Siberia, to pave a new path from European Russia to sparsely populated Asia. On the site of the capital of the Siberian Khanate, modern Turinsk is located.
The city became famous in Russian history as a place of exile for prisoners, mostly political ones. A huge prison was built on the outskirts of Turinsk - the famous Siberian penal servitude began from here. Nothing remains of the prison building today, only a memorial sign testifies to that difficult time.
The road will not seem so far if you go through the city of Turinsk. Hot springs are not far from it, and in the city itself you can stop for a while, visit the local Museum of the Decembrists. Thanks to their exile to this settlement, Turinsk itself became ennobled, a park appeared, one of the oldest in the Middle Urals.
Museum of the Decembrists
The Museum of the Decembrists is located in the former mansion of one of the participants in the uprising, Ivashev, who came to Turinsk with his family. The atmosphere of the 19th century reigns in the institution: popular musical evenings are held in a huge hall with a fireplace, there is also a famous piano donated to the museum by Nikita Mikhalkov himself. An amazing and touching love story of a Russian officer Ivashev and a French girl who was not afraid to follow her beloved to distant Siberia runs like a red thread through the fate of both the Russian exile and the town of Turinsk.
The Ivashev House became the unifying center of the life of the Decembrists, their meetings, musicaland literary evenings. Quiet family happiness reigned in this estate until trouble broke in - due to a cold, Camilla, Ivashev's wife, began premature birth. The daughter who was born died a couple of days later, Camilla herself soon followed her. Vasily Petrovich could not survive his only love for a long time, and exactly one year later he quietly dies in his sleep in his bed. At the Turinsk cemetery, their grave is still revered as a symbol of great and pure love. This is how it is, this region - a hot spring, Turinsk, endless forests, mountains and eternal love …
Park
The exiled Decembrists who ended up in Turinsk planted a beautiful park next to their homes. During the war of 1941-1945, the park became a big stage - here, in the old wooden building of the local club, actors evacuated from various regions of the country staged their performances. The theme of these screenings was the same - the exploits of Soviet soldiers.
Convent
Another attraction of the city is St. Nicholas Monastery, with its rich and difficult fate. At the very beginning of the 17th century, the Intercession Monastery was opened in Turinsk, which was originally a female monastery, but then, twenty years later, for unknown reasons, was transformed into a male monastery. All buildings were wooden, and only by the end of the 18th century was the stone church, Voznesenskaya, consecrated. But by the beginning of the next century, the monastery practically ceased to exist - most likely, this is due to the decision to withdraw it from the state, which, in essence, left the churchan institution without a livelihood.
The road to the source
But how to get to the hot springs of Turinsk? To do this, from the city of Yekaterinburg, you need to go to the Rezhevskaya highway and head towards the industrial town of Rezh. On the bypass we reach Irbit and, slowly moving along the main road, we try not to miss the sign with the inscription "Turinsk". In the city itself we drive along the main road and after the bridge we turn to Chekunovo. It remains to get to the village of Factory, then into the forest, and you will run right into the iron gate. After paying for the entrance and driving about a hundred meters, we will find ourselves in front of a wooden tower with a pipe. This is the hot spring (Turinsk).
Hot spring
The source consists of three pools: the first 7x8 meters is the largest, then there is a 3x3 pool and the smallest reservoir - 2x2 meters completes the orderly row. Water from the pipe is poured under pressure into a large pool, and from there it is poured alternately into two others. In the smallest reservoir, the water is cooler than in the previous ones, but the difference is not so noticeable. At the moment, the hot springs (Turinsk), after repair, are in a good condition, a third pool has been built, benches have been placed, the surrounding area does not frighten with wretchedness and garbage. But, going on a trip, you should take into account that there is no hotel at the base. If you are traveling from afar, you must agree in advance with the residents of the village of Fabrichnoe about accommodation for the night.
On the territory of the source, you canhave a bite to eat in an inexpensive cafe and use the locker room and shower. Bathing lasts two hours - during this time you will splash in plenty of warm water, but you don’t need more. Water still belongs to the category of mineral-healing with a high content of iron and a temperature of 35 degrees.
These are hot springs (Turinsk). The prices here are quite reasonable, for two hours of swimming from 6 am to 12 pm you will pay 100 rubles, and after lunch until midnight - 200.
Sodium-chloride-iodine-bromine water in the source is used to treat diseases of the musculoskeletal system, digestive organs and central nervous system. It is not recommended to spend all two hours in the pool - go out, take a short walk, drink a cup of hot tea or coffee in a cafe, relax. A hot bath taken in two or three sessions will bring much more benefit and pleasure than continuous lying in the pool for two hours. The hot spring (Turinsk) is a protected area, but still do not forget about your own safety and do not leave valuables unattended.
Tura and healing spring
It is noteworthy that this area is famous for its water sources - the Tura River becomes truly great and mighty during the spring flood. It has the longest bridge in the Urals. Many local legends and mysterious stories are associated with Tura, one of which is the legend of Pugachev's gold, allegedly thrown into the water. Local treasure hunters are still trying to find the woodena barrel with precious stones and gold coins at the bottom of Tura.
Orthodox believers deeply revere the sacred spring not far from the former cell of Father Basilisk. His cell was very small, with only a single window and an earthen floor. The furnishings are more than modest: an earthen bed with a matting mattress and a clay stove. The water in this holy spring does not freeze even in winter, and pilgrims come to the place of worship to bow to the grave of the holy father and draw healing water.
