Bright installations and unusual lightingstructures appeared in 20 sites: at the fairs of the festival "Expedition to Christmas" and pedestrian streets.
In total, the city was decorated with about 20 art objects and 10 significant installations. At the same time, the light geography was not limited to the center of the capital: Christmas and New Year art objects appeared in Zelenograd (Youth Square), in the Eastern Administrative District (Semyonovsky Plaza) and the Northern Administrative District (Khachaturyan Street).
In addition, nine sparkling compositions made in the form of numbers - the number 2016, were installed not only in the center of Moscow, but also in other metropolitan districts. Also, as part of the festival, 17 two-meter chandeliers appeared above Stoleshnikov Lane, and luminous balls were placed on Poklonnaya Gora, on which a pattern was projected, creating the effect of a charming shadow theater.
Boulevard
Tverskoy Boulevard is a great place for leisurely walks in summer and winter, especially on the eve of the New Year. In recent years, it has become one of the venues for the Christmas Expedition festival in the capital.
In order for people to remember the amazing celebration for a long time, a fabulous installation was placed on the boulevard - a 100 m long light tunnel. Its flickering did not leave anyone indifferent. Many people walked inside this structure and then shared spectacular selfies with their friends.
Work Schedule
The light tunnel is an amazing creation of human hands. Since 2015, the Expedition to Christmas festival has become the biggest in Europe. On theit was visited by ten million people - this is the limit figure. A rich program awaited the guests: entertaining workshops, New Year's souvenirs, vibrant street theater shows, concerts, dazzling light installations, delicious food and an unforgettable joyful atmosphere.
During the Christmas holidays, the site was open on weekdays from 11:00 to 21:00, and on weekends from 10:00 to 22:00. It was open on December 31 from 12:00 to 03:00, January 1 - from 15:00 to 21:00. Probably, this year her work schedule will be identical.

How to get by metro to the light tunnel on Tverskoy Boulevard? It is known that Tverskaya Street runs northeast from Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street to Pushkinsky Square. So, from the Teatralnaya metro station, go to the Bolshoi Theatre. Here in 2017, during the Christmas holidays, a light composition similar to the crown from the play The Nutcracker was installed. Next is the Central Department Store, which shimmered like a precious diamond before the New Year.
Then walk forward a bit and you will see the Kuznetsky bridge. During the New Year holidays, a fair was placed here in houses, which are glass stalls decorated with LEDs. Next, go to Stoleshnikov lane inside of City Hall. At Christmas, all the streets here were decorated identically - with LED trees.
On New Year's holidays, a fair always unfolds near the city hall, aimed at showing on TV - everything is European and very beautiful. Next, exit onto Tverskaya Street and get to Pushkinskaya Square. As part of the festival, the composition "Musical Forest" was located near the monument to Pushkin, and a light tunnel was located on Tverskoy Boulevard.
Aleatorica "2017" was placed at the beginning of Tverskoy Boulevard. Many people on holidays passed through the tunnel through which one could get into the ice town, intended for playing snowballs. In 2017, the glowing tunnel was moved closer to the people and placed near the metro. You can complete your journey by going to Manezhnaya Square and Okhotny Ryad.
