Ryazan-Sasovo, features of the trip along the route

If you look at the map of the Ryazan region, it is noticeable that, apart from the regional center, there are no other large cities. This makes it different from neighboring regions. From the regional center it is possible to get by different means of transport to the opposite end of the region - to the city of Sasovo. The distance from Ryazan to Sasovo is 200 kilometers.

Ride on the bus

The central bus station is located in Ryazan on the Moscow highway. Five buses depart from it to Sasovo almost every day:

• 11:30.
• 13:50.
• 15:35.
• 17:10.
• 18:00.

The trip from Ryazan to Sasovo takes three hours, the ticket costs 350 rubles. Buses are small, usually Mercedes with 19 seats. The final destination for buses can be not only Sasovo, but also the village of Kadom.

In the opposite direction, from Sasovo to Ryazan, buses run from Monday to Saturday according to the following schedule:

• 06:00.
• 08:45.
• 13:30.

The exception is Sunday. There is only one flight to Ryazan - at 13:30. It should be remembered that it is quite cold on buses in winter, passengers sometimes complain about this.

Rail ride

The distance between settlements is small, so electric trains run between Ryazan and Sasovo. The schedule of their departure from the Ryazan-1 station looks like this:

• 12:40.
• 14:37.
• 19:17.

The trip takes 3 hours and 15 minutes. The ticket costs 423 rubles. Thus, the fare is 2.1 rubles per kilometer.

In the opposite direction, from Sasovo to Ryazan, trains run according to the following schedule:

• 06:07.
• 08:33.
• 13:12.
• 13:31.
• 14:56.
• 18:40.

Ticket price and travel time are the same. There will be about 20 1-minute stops along the way. The largest of them is the regional center Shilovo.

Sasovo is located on the railway that connects Moscow and the Volga region with the Urals, so some long-distance trains also stop there.

Trains from Ryazan to Sasovo depart according to the following schedule:

• 02:08 and 02:58. A rare passenger train to Ulyanovsk and an express train to Karaganda alternate. The latter was formed by the railways of Kazakhstan.
• 05:02, 05:12 or 05:36. Branded train from St. Petersburg to Samara. Civilian but expensive.
• 15:31. Fast train from Moscow to Ufa. It has seating cars and the price of the trip will be a bit more expensive than the bus.
• 18:52. Passenger train to Chelyabinsk with seated cars and fast train to Dimitrovgrad alternate.
• 21:01. Branded double-decker train to Samara. Mostfast, two hours on the road.
• 22:35 or 22:40. Branded train from Moscow to Ulyanovsk.

The trip takes 2.5 to 3 hours. The cost depends on a number of factors: type of train and wagon, Russian Railways promotions, seasonal tariff. You need to focus on such prices:

• Seated. From 400 rubles.
• Reserved seat. From 550 rubles.
• Compartment. From 660 rubles.
• Sleeping. From 2100 rubles.

In the opposite direction, from Sasovo to Ryazan, trains run according to the following schedule:

• 00:22. Two-story branded from Samara.
• 03:32 and 03:35. Signature composition from Ulyanovsk.
• 05:10. Passenger from Chelyabinsk.
• 09:16 and 09:32. Trains from Karaganda and Ulyanovsk alternate.
• 12:10. Signature composition from Samara to St. Petersburg.
• 23:10. Unbranded train from Ufa to Moscow.

Those who want to leave Ryazan or Sasovo by train number 84 to Kazakhstan should remember that it has an international fare, so it's better to take a ticket to Petropavlovsk, and then travel by local Kazakh transport.

Drive a car

From Ryazan you need to go southeast along the E-30 highway and move along it to the city of Shatsk, where you need to turn north, onto the R-124 highway. It leads directly to the city center. It is realistic to drive such a route in 2.5-3 hours, depending on the weather and the congestion of the route.

What to see in Sasovo?

Sights of the city of Sasovo hardlywidely known. This is not Suzdal or Pereyaslavl-Zalessky.

The cathedral of the early 19th century has been preserved in the city. If you drive 18 kilometers from Sasovo to the village of Kargashino, you can see the remains of the estate in the Gothic style.

Besides this, you should pay attention to the following objects:

• Local History Museum.
• Museum of Russian Song.
• Flight School Museum.
• Unexpected for these places a monument to Ernest Hemingway, as well as to railway workers, pilots (An-2).
• Trinity Estate.
