Kosov, the map of which is literally full of interesting places to visit, is an old city. It was first mentioned in documents in 1424 as a village. In the sixteenth century, s alt was found here, so Kosiv turned into a town. The s alt bath was closed in the middle of the twentieth century. The city was repeatedly attacked by the Turks and Tatars, as well as militant neighbors, but, like a fabulous Phoenix bird, it was reborn again in its beauty and grandeur.

Kosov, whose sights are worth your attention, was inhabited by different peoples. Ukrainians, Poles, Austrians and, of course, Jews have left their mark on the city. An important historical and cultural monument is the ancient cemetery-kirkut, where each tombstone can be considered a work of art. The wooden Orthodox Church of the Nativity of John the Baptist, built in the Hutsul style in 1912, remembers Patriarch Vladimir of the UOC-KP. Near it is a cemetery with gloomy but interesting crypts and tombstones. The locals will show you the place where another wooden church used to stand (built in 1895), which burned down in 2009. Rebuilt, it differs in many ways from its predecessor. In addition, there are also two churches with original decoration in the city.
