The city of Novorossiysk is not at all associated with a resort and a place for a beach holiday. Despite the fact that it stands on the Black Sea coast, it is better known as a major port. As for the climate, the Russians are more familiar with the expression "Novorossiysk bora", meaning a cold gusty wind of great strength, capable of capsizing ships. About 250 thousand people live in the city. Novorossiysk, unlike Anapa, Gelendzhik and Sochi, is not at all focused on tourism. He lives his own life. But this does not mean at all that the tourist infrastructure is completely absent in the city. You will simply find more conditions for recreation on the outskirts. Resorts of Novorossiysk are known mainly to local residents. This has its advantages, and in this article we will talk about them. We will also analyze resorts located in close proximity to the hero city and a major port in southern Russia.
Resorts of Novorossiysk: pros and cons
The first thing that comes to mind is accessibility. Traveling to the Caucasian resorts of the Black Sea in their car, tourists pass through Novorossiysk. Why andnot to make its surroundings the finishing point of your journey? Novorossiysk is an important transport hub. Planes land here at the local airport, trains arrive here from different parts of Russia. The resorts of Novorossiysk have the specifics that they are ideal for a calm and measured family vacation. There is no vibrant nightlife in small villages. Does your soul yearn for a drive? Get on the bus and go to the city. There you will find it in full. Climatically, Novorossiysk has hotter and drier summers than the southern resorts of the Krasnodar Territory. But the tourist season here is shorter. The best time to relax near Novorossiysk is the summer months. The velvet season can be ruined by the notorious bora. Local resorts have one indisputable advantage over Sochi, Anapa, Gelendzhik, etc. These are prices. They are significantly lower on everything: housing, fruits, cafes, food and entertainment.
Myskhako
The city of Novorossiysk itself lies on the shore of the Tsemess Bay. One can be skeptical about the purity of this area. A big city and - what is especially important - a powerful port contribute little to good ecology. But all the resorts of Novorossiysk are located outside the Tsemess Bay. Even the closest to the city is Myskhako. Strictly speaking, this place is administratively a remote area of Novorossiysk. It is only six kilometers from the city center. Some residents have dachas here, which they rent out to visitors. The beaches here are pebbly and quite narrow. But there is no influx of people either, especially on weekdays. Here you can go diving and underwater fishing. But most of all Myskhako is famous for its wines. The local plant is the official supplier of drinks to the Kremlin. In addition to tasting Myskhak wines, tourists can take a trip on a sightseeing "train" to the picturesque Guam Gorge, go jeeping to the Mezmay waterfalls or visit the Death Valley memorial complex.
Wide Beam
This is another resort near Novorossiysk. It is 10 km from the city. The village of Shirokaya Balka is famous for its wide pebble beach, which stretches for one and a half kilometers. This led to the construction of twenty recreation centers and boarding houses here. But there are also plenty of proposals from the private sector. In the center of the village, next to a well-maintained beach, it is always fun. There are discos, restaurants and cafes. If you want a more relaxing and quiet holiday, choose accommodation on the outskirts of Shirokaya Balka, in a mountain gorge. The beach offers all kinds of water activities, including yachting and helicopter rides. After a wild night at a local club, you can clear your karma by visiting the nearby Wasteland of Theodosius of the Caucasus.
South Ozereyka
If you walk two kilometers along the coast in the direction from Novorossiysk, you will come to a luxurious, clean pebble beach. The settlement of Yuzhnaya Ozereyka, unlike Shirokaya Beam and Myskhako, is located a little inland. It belongs to those resorts of Novorossiysk, reviews of which report that only residents of the regional center rest in them. Therefore, the prices here are more thanlow. At a budget resort, however, you will not be bored. There is a winery here, whose products, according to experts, are in no way inferior in quality to those produced in Myskhako. On the outskirts of Yuzhnaya Ozereyka, there is the Rossiya complex, where hippotherapy sessions are held for children with autism. And for everyone else, the actors - people and horses - show the costume show "Ancient Rome".
Durso
Many Russians must have heard this name in conjunction with Abrau. The two villages are located seven kilometers apart. And between them are the famous vineyards that created the image of Abrau-Durso as the “capital of Russian champagne”. The first village is located far from the sea, in the mountains, on the shores of the purest freshwater lake. Durso is located on the seashore. But this Novorossiysk resort, which is often photographed from a bird's eye view, also has its own freshwater lake. This reservoir is separated from the sea by only thirty meters. Tastings are held at the oldest sparkling wine factory in Russia. From the excursions, walks along the Utrishsky reserve are available.
