History of the Museum

The museum began its work in 2008. It has two branches: in the 130th quarter and in Akademgorodok. "Experimentary" in Irkutsk has almost no repeating devices in the branches. In the "Experimentaria" of Irkutsk, the number of the most interesting devices and devices is constantly growing. Interestingly, most of them are made from improvised materials by museum specialists: from old system units, monitors, bicycle wheels.

Even ordinary nails and sand are used in the demonstration of "miracles". For example, the law of conservation of momentum is clearly demonstrated here using billiard balls. And a model of the Earth's atmosphere, in which lighter molecules fly at the top and heavy ones fall down, is made of brightly colored foam and a conventional fan.

Among the curious exhibits of the Museum "Experimentary" in Irkutsk, visitors include a chair into which 1024 nails are driven. Any guest of the museum can sit on this chair, and without prejudice to their he alth: due to the large number of nails, the fulcrum increases, and the weight is distributed evenly on these sharp objects. Not less thanan unusual device for launching smoke rings is also interesting.

Those who wish can stand on the light bulb that is inserted into the jar. The light bulb does not break, regardless of the weight of the tester. In the "Experimentaria" of Irkutsk, a record was set by a man weighing one hundred and forty kilograms. The bulb survived.

Museum novelties

At the end of 2014, more than fifteen new products appeared in the Museum of Experimental Science, among which the interactive magnetic pendulum, electrophore machine, Ames room, cartoon making machine, sewer pipe organ, gyroscopic suitcase were of particular interest. All the “miracles” around us are explained from a scientific point of view in the laboratory of the Experimentarium in Irkutsk. Workshops are regularly held here on a variety of topics, accompanied by a demonstration of experiments, in which everyone takes part. In the laboratory, the number of places is limited, so you should book them in advance at a time convenient for you by contacting the administrator by phone.
