The international air hub Vladivostok (Knevichi) is located 38 km northeast of the metropolis of Vladivostok and 4.5 km from the city of Artyom. Until 1993, the 145th flight team of the Far Eastern Civil Aviation Office was located here. This air hub was also the main air gate of the 25th Twice Red Banner Aviation Missile-Carrying Marine Division of the Pacific Fleet Air Force, with the same location of the 183rd missile-carrying naval regiment and the leadership of the division, as well as the aircraft repair enterprise of the Pacific Fleet Air Force (153rd ARZ) and the 593rd transport air regiment. It has the status of an air hub of federal significance.

Description

What is Vladivostok International Airport? These air gates are allowed to receive all types of aircraft without restrictions. The airport has one cargo terminal and two passenger terminals. The airport owns twoairfields:

• Lake springs - for helicopters and planes of local airlines. It is equipped with two runways with synthetic insulation, 600 m and 1000 m long and 21 m wide each. Today the airfield is used by the military, there are no regular flights.
• Western Knevichi - for long-distance and local airlines. There are a couple of runways with decorative pavement: one is 60 m wide and 3500 m long, facing strength PCN 54/R/B/X/T, the second is 60 m wide and 3500 m long, insulation resistance PCN 52/R/B /X/T (combined). Accepts aircraft of all types.

Activities

How does Vladivostok International Airport work? In 2007, its passenger traffic amounted to 924 thousand people, 1,003,718 in 2008. For the first time in 2010, the number of transported travelers reached 1 million 263 thousand people. Of these, 263 thousand passengers used the services on international airlines, 1 million 27 thousand on domestic flights.

In 2012, on November 30, the one and a half millionth passenger was registered in this air hub. And in 2012, on December 14, a jubilee traveler of the Transaero airline took off from the heavenly gates of Vladivostok. The airline for the first time in its history transported 10 million passengers in a year.

APEC Summit

The airport is connected with the city of Artyom by buses 107 (terminal A), 7 (terminals A and B) and 205 ml (terminal A).

The air hub is connected to Vladivostok by buses ML 205 and 107.

Competition

It is known that JSC "International airport Sheremetyevo" sold the International Airport of Vladivostok (Knevichi) to the World Investment Consortium. It includes the Direct Investment Fund of Russia (RDIF), the Basic Element group, the operator of air hubs Changi Airports International. It is known that Vladivostok International Airport did not change the flight schedule after these actions.

The agreement included 100% of the shares of Vladivostok Air Terminal CJSC, which manages and owns the terminal building of the air hub, and 52.16% of Vladivostok International Airport JSC. RDIF, CAI and Basic Element control equal parts of the shares - 33.3% each.

The agreement was signed under the supervision of Deputy Shanmugaratnam Tharman (Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore) and First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov following a meeting of the intergovernmental Singaporean-Russian working group. An agency source in the Russian delegation said that the amount of the agreement was about 6 billion rubles.
