It is located in the Tyumen region, 13 km west of the metropolis. The official name of the sky berth is Roshchino. It has the status of an air hub of federal importance and is the base for the Yamal and UTair airlines. The air hub operator is JSC Novaport.

Tyumen Airport is allowed to receive the following aircraft: An-74, An-124, An-26, An-72, An-24, An-12 (a one-time special permit is required for takeoff and landing), Yak- 42, Boeing 767, Tu-154, Yak-40, Tu-134, Il-86, Boeing 757, Il-76, Il-18, Tu-214, Boeing-737, Tu-204, An-148, Superjet Sukhoi 100, aircraft of the Airbus A320, ATR 72, Embraer-120, SAAB-340, Regional Bombardier Canadair Jet (CRJ) family and all lightweights and all helicopters.

Technically, the air hub can receive aircraft such as Boeing-747, Airbus A340, Airbus A330, Boeing-777, but today these aircraft are not presented in the passport of the air harbor. That is why takeoff and landing in Roshchino for suchboards are possible only with a temporary special admission.

Roshchino airport is equipped with two synthetic runways (RWY). IVPP-1 (12/30), with parameters of 2704x50 m, is equipped with a lighting system for OMI from both courses, (PCN) 42/R/C/W/T. IVPP-2 (03/21), with parameters 3003 X 45 m, equipped with OVI-1 lighting equipment and landing systems on both lines, (PCN) 74/R/C/X/T.

This building was modernized in 1998, a transnational terminal was created. How did the Tyumen airport appear? It is known that in 1953, in September, deposits were discovered in the Tyumen region. The development of the first industrial underground oil storehouse was started here in the summer of 1960. Since that time, the rapid development of air transport in the Tyumen region began. It was possible to develop gas and oil fields in conditions of complete impassability only after the formation of a progressive aviation system.

In a short period, a new air hub was built, capable of receiving An-12, An-22 aircraft for transporting goods to the north of the Tyumen region. The air harbor housed An-24 aircraft, and since 1972, Tu-134 aircraft, which provided passenger air transportation.

In 1968, on May 15, the Minister of Civil Aviation issued an order, in accordance with which the Second Tyumen United Aviation Brigade was created, and from that moment the history of the evolution and formation of the air hub began, a team began to form. In the 1970s, polar gas fields were developed, new megacities were built, and the geography of air travel from Roshchin gradually expanded to the north.

In 1970-1980, 1.5 million travelers annually departed from the Tyumen air hub. The air harbor upgrade was completed in December 2016. It was launched in 2012 and is divided into four stages. Three of them were completed by June 2016, and the final work was carried out subsequently.

How to get to Tyumen airport? From the city to the airport (and vice versa) can be reached by the following bus routes:

• By bus number 10, which takes 40 minutes from the Roschino air hub to the Tyumen bus station. This transport runs between the Tyumen bus station, the Tyumen railway station and the Roschino air gate every half an hour, operating in the Express mode.
• By bus number 141, which can take 40-50 minutes from the airport to Nemtsov Square.

Plekhanovo Airfield
