Yaroslavl Airport is located near the Volga River. Near it passes the federal highway M8 Moscow - Kholmogory (on the segment Yaroslavl - Kostroma). You can get to the air hub from Yaroslavl by bus number 183a.

This is an extremely close Class B airport (ICAO: I, 4E) to the Moscow air hub.

Current state

Yaroslavl Airport is designed to serve and receive up to 15-17 aircraft per day. Airport terminal (total area1000 m²) can send and receive up to 180 travelers per hour on domestic air routes, up to 100 travelers per hour on international flights. The cargo terminal (area 833 m²) processes up to 150 tons of luggage per day on international and domestic flights.

Yaroslavl Airport is equipped with a runway (RWY) 05/23, 3010 m long and 44 m wide. /C/X/T - in winter. The airfield has five taxi lanes B, E, D, C, parking for boards for 16 seats.

When servicing travelers of international flights, the terminal uses a reverse service method (accompanying only an arriving flight or a departing flight).

The results of the production activities of the Yaroslavl air hub Tunoshna in 2016 were perceived in two ways. The depressed regional air gate has managed to slightly increase passenger traffic, but the number of cargo flights here is greatly reduced. Today, the director of Yaroslavl (Tunoshna) airport is Anatoly Kozlov. It is he, along with his updated team, who is trying to breathe a second life into the air hub. The basic strategic task that the government of the Yaroslavl region set for the team is to bring the heavenly gates of Yaroslavl to operational break-even, to achievewhich is possible only through the development of the air harbor, its route network, the transition to a continuous operation mode, the modernization of the airfield infrastructure, and the start of international flights.

Many stages of development are closely interconnected. The authorities of the Yaroslavl region not only set tasks for the management of the air hub, but also actively participate in the process, provide assistance and support in solving the tasks set.

Chronicle

Yaroslavl Airport was created on the basis of a former military airfield. It was transferred to the ownership of the Yaroslavl region by order of the Russian authorities dated August 13, 1998 No. 1038-r.

The air harbor was reconstructed in 2003. Lighting equipment was installed - low power Transcon lights with heading 54, bright Transcon lights with magnetic landing direction 234.

The terminal was put into operation in 2002, modernized in 2013. In the period from November 2, 1998 to July 9, 2004, the operator of the air hub was the unitary state enterprise of the Yaroslavl region "Airport Tunoshna". During this time period, it was transformed into a budgetary state institution of the Yaroslavl region of the YaO "Tunoshna Air Hub". Since July 9, 2004, Aerohull Tunoshna OJSC has been its representative.

In 2015, from May 29 to May 31, the air tour "Golden Ring" was held on the basis of the air hub. And in 2016, from May 27 to May 29, on the basis of the international air hub Yaroslavl, an air tour "Golden Ring" was held andair show "Aviaregion-2016".
