In 2004, it was decided to close the Gelendzhik airport for reconstruction, for which about six billion rubles were spent. Today, this air harbor has a runway that is 3,100 meters long and 60 meters wide. Here, the construction of the main buildings and structures has been completely completed, as well as the laying of communications has been completed. The airport is able to receive most types of aircraft and all types of helicopters. In addition, a hydro-airport operates on its territory. The capacity of the Gelendzhik air harbor is eight takeoffs and landings per hour.

Today, the airport has one terminal that serves only domestic flights. Its capacity is estimated at 140 passengers per hour, which corresponds to forecast calculations of the demand for this direction. The air harbor is located just ten kilometers from the city center, near the M-4 highway. You can get to the hotel or sanatorium from the airport by the official taxi "Kuban Express" or by public transport: minibuses No. 5, 12 and bus No. 5.

Despite its rather compact size, Gelendzhik Airport is fully equipped with everything necessary for passengers. Also, tourists note its convenience and comfort. There is a mother and child room in the airport building (it is located in the departure hall, to the left of the check-in desks). Pregnant women, as well as women with children under seven years of age, can use it free of charge. In addition, the air harbor building is fully equipped for the unhindered movement of people with disabilities.

There is a paid luggage storage for passengers. It is located in the terminal building next to the information desk. There is also a paid luggage wrapping point. It is located next to Sberbank and Gazprombank ATMs.

There is free wireless Internet access on the territory of the terminal. A cafe and a pizzeria are open in the departure hall from half past nine in the morning until half past eight in the evening, where you can have a bite to eat while waiting for boarding your flight.

There is also a VIP lounge at the Gelendzhik airport. It is located in the right wing of the building.terminal. Here, passengers are offered a summer gazebo and a comfortable room with wireless Internet, a bar, satellite TV and the latest press. Also in the same hall you can go through check-in and pre-flight control. There are two parking lots near the airport building: paid and free. Paid parking is located on the forecourt and can accommodate 144 cars. Every hour of parking here will cost a hundred rubles. However, the first 15 minutes of your stay are free. Parking, for which no one will require payment from you, is located two hundred meters from the terminal building and is designed for 60 cars.
