Description and natural features

Ivanovskie reservoirs are 4 mountain lakes. All of them are distinguished by a fairly large depth and very icy water. They are located in a cascade, between the peaks called Ararat and Bobrovaya (the height of these peaks above sea level is 1546 and 1617 meters, respectively). The Sarala River flows out of the upper lake and flows into the lower reservoir of this system. In this place forms a wonderful waterfall. It is worth noting that Ivanovskie lakes (Khakassia) individually do not have specific names, only a common one. The largest of them are called Upper and Lower.

Ivanovskie lakes are located in the zone of eternal ice, so there are glaciers and so-called snowfields scattered throughout the territory. The reservoirs are very deep, the average reaches 140 meters. What is most surprising is that the water is simply amazing in its transparency. Fish are found in reservoirs, however, not in all. For example, in the Upper Lake it is practically non-existent. It is quite simple to explain this: the water temperature in it is so low that such a cold is simply unacceptable for the animal world. Ivanovskie lakes can boast of karst origin. Khakassia is full of such reservoirs: hence the presence of great depths. The lakes are fed by waterfalls and streams, which receive water from snowfields.

What awaits tourists?

The lakes are unsuitable for tourist activities: swimming and diving. The water in them is so icy that it is even dangerous for a person to dive into it. Also, in some reservoirs, the shores are simply absent in the usual sense of the word for us. On the one hand, here you can see steep slopes and rocks, on the other - smooth boulders surrounding the Ivanovskie Lakes. Khakassia has always been distinguished by a large number of reservoirs with a dangerous descent.

The canopies are only the western shores of the lower lakes, it is there that you can meet the camps of travelers. Nevertheless, tourists are attracted by the picturesque view of the surrounding nature. Eternal snow on the slopes of the mountains makes it possible to practice winter sports all year round.

Nature Reserve

The territory of Ivanovskie lakes is planned to be registered as a natural park, which is unique in its kind, because it is located in the alpine zone. This is facilitated, in addition to the picturesque nature, the unique diversity of flora and fauna. Some representatives of flora and fauna are listed on the pages of the Red Book. The main goal of creating the park is to protect and protect some biocenoses (among them high-mountain alpine meadows), as well as rare plant communities - winding birch groves and unique tundra species. Ivanovskie lakes (Khakassia) - the territory of the reindeer population. This place is also rich in berries - cranberries and blueberries.

Closer to the Lower Lakes there are tourist bases and hotels. In the summer, excursions to the mountains and to reservoirs are held here, and from November to May, you can ride snowmobiles, skis, and snowboard here.

Ivanovskie lakes, Khakassia: how to get there?

To get to your destination, you need to overcome a difficult path. The distance from the largest settlement of Krasnoyarsk is 450 km. You can travel by car, passing the cities of Achinsk, Uzhur, Kopyovo. From the last village you need to go along a gravel road to the Priiskovy farm, having overcome a decent distance - 100 km. And from this settlement to the lakes - a little more than 10 km. The complexity of the route lies in the poor road patency. Almost the entire distance can only be covered by SUV or on foot. At the beginning of this path, tourist camps are usually set up. In the same way, you can overcome the route on intercity transport.
