Located in the north of the Taman Peninsula, the Akhtanizovsky Estuary is considered the largest fresh water body in the Krasnodar Territory. Today it is divided into two unequal parts, which are separated by a dam. According to experts, about 200 years ago it was a s alty closed lake. The Akhtanizovsky Estuary was connected with the Sea of Azov by the Peresyp branch. However, in 1819, residents of the Starotitarovskaya and Temryukskaya villages connected it with the Kuban branch for the purpose of desalination.
General information
From now on, part of the river runoff flows through the Cossack erik to the Akhtanizovsky estuary. Today it consists of two unequal water areas separated by a dam. They are called the Small and Big Akhtanizovsky estuaries. The first is a closed reservoir, which is several times smaller in area. The Small Akhtanizovsky Estuary is of much less interest in terms of recreation.
The area of the Great Water Area is approximately one hundred thousand square meters with a maximum depth of up to one hundred and eighty centimeters.
From the south, the reservoir is fenced by Starotitarovskayahill, cut by numerous ravines and gullies. Mount Borisoglebskaya rises in the west. Directly by the water is the village of the same name - Akhtanizovskaya. The estuary in the northern part has a fairly high coast. The mirror-like surface of the lake is separated from the solid land by reed thickets.
Inhabitants of the reservoir
Akhtanizovsky Estuary is a fairly rich body of water. Catfish and asp, pike, pike perch, tench and perch, crucian carp, bream, carp are found in it. There are also ram, silver carp, sabrefish and rudd. Akhtanizovsky Estuary is a place of constant wintering and habitat for many waterfowl. Hunting for them, as a rule, opens from the third Saturday of September and ends on the twentieth of January. Of the waterfowl species, the greatest interest is primarily the coot, which is quite abundant here. There are a lot of ducks in the estuary, mostly mallards.
Judging by the reviews, the most exciting hunting here begins in November, when birds from the northern regions survive the cold and they begin to gather here for the winter. On windy days, prey on the estuary is quite rich. Ducks come across here almost the whole day. For hunting, you need a boat and stuffed animals, as well as camouflage.
This is interesting
In the eighties of the last century, they tried to plant a lotus on Taman. This exotic flower did not take root well everywhere. The only place for the germination of the lotus was the Akhtanizovsky estuary. Photos of the reservoir from mid-July until the end of September are simply amazing. Herea real plantation of this flower was formed. Today, the Lotus Valley has become a favorite destination for tourists.
On the Akhtanizovsky estuary, lotuses of all colors of the rainbow are presented: here you can find blue and pink, yellow and red, and finally, the most beautiful - Indian lotuses. The water temperature warms up to a maximum of twenty-nine degrees - optimal for an exotic culture. And although a similar regime is maintained throughout the reservoir, the lotus grows on only two square kilometers.
Tearing these amazing flowers is strictly prohibited. They are listed in the regional Red Book. Moreover, a plucked plant does not live very long, so you should not spoil it. According to legend, if you whisper the name of a loved one into the lotus, then love will always bloom. They get to the part of the estuary where the excursions begin, through Kazachiy Erik, located near the village of Strelka.
Fishing
Fishing on this reservoir, judging by the reviews, is almost always successful. The fish here is very tasty, and since the estuary is flowing, it does not smell of mud. On the lake itself, there are practically no places for fishing directly from the shore. Therefore, fishermen need a boat, although as an alternative, you can choose a channel that flows into the Maly Akhtanizovsky Estuary for fishing.
Fishing in the pond is always very popular. Here you can meet with a fishing rod not only local villagers, but also lovers of this pastime from other nearby villages. People even come here from Anapa and Temryuk.
With the right bait, you can catch hazelfish, set pike perch on fire in some areas, especially if you have an echo sounder. Judging by the reviews, some managed to pull out a good pike in winter.
