Serebryanye Prudy is the farthest urban district of the Moscow Region. Moscow - Silver Ponds - a long distance. The capital and the regional center are separated by 180 km.
History
An ancient settlement known since the 16th century. In these places, battles with the Crimean Tatars and battles of the Time of Troubles took place. From here, Soviet troops launched an offensive in December 1941 in a westerly direction. Military Marshal Vasily Chuikov and many other personalities who made a significant contribution to the history of the country were born here: the heroes of the war of 1812 and the Decembrists, actors and composers, writers and athletes.
At different times Serebryanye Prudy belonged to the princes Serebryany-Obolensky, Cherkassky, the Sheremetev dynasty.
At the beginning of the 17th century, Ivan Bolotnikov set up a stronghold here. Later, supporters of the zemstvo militia, Prince G. V. Volkonsky, governor N. D. Pilemov, I. Zarutsky and Y. Ryndin besieged Silver Ponds, but did not achieve the desired result.
Nature
The city of Serebryanye Prudy is located on the Sturgeon River in an ecologically clean area of the Moscow Region. The main activity of the population is agricultural production. Here you can always find natural vegetables from household plots and the freshestlivestock products. There are no large industrial enterprises here, the city is simply immersed in greenery. Dense forests, spacious fields and full-flowing rivers can be safely called natural attractions. Creative people have a special love for magnificent landscapes, they will appreciate this splendor.
Three rivers flow in the region: Kudesna, Mordves, Berezinka.
Neighbours
As already mentioned, the distance between Moscow and Serebryannye Prudy is 180 km. In the neighborhood are Zaraisky and Kashirsky districts of the region. Neighbors can be called the Tula and Ryazan regions. Serebryanyye Prudy during its existence and due to the peculiarities of its geographical location belonged to the Tula region (1939) and was part of the Stupinsky district of the Moscow region (1963). In 2005, the workers' camp was converted into an urban settlement.
Infrastructure
The population of Silver Ponds is 10,000 people. There is everything you need for life here: cafes, shops, post office, banks, beauty salons, a cultural center, temples, schools, kindergartens, art and music schools, an Olympic reserve school and two sports schools, a children's art center, a hotel.
Attractions
Among them is a monument and a bust to Marshal Chuikov, his house-museum, a monument to the leader of the world proletariat V. I.
In the cultural center "Heritage" there is a museum room of the people's artist SergeiDmitrievich Stolyarov.
There are two magnificent churches in the city: the Church of the Sign of the Most Holy Theotokos, built at the beginning of the 20th century (more precisely, in 1914) and the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, built in 1835. Restoration work is underway on small churches throughout the area.
How to get there?
The road Moscow - Silver Ponds will lead to the federal highway M4 "Don", the village is located not far from it. The federal highway M6 "Kaspiy", leading to Astrakhan, and the road Kashira - Silver Ponds - Kimovsk run through the district.
There is a railway station and a bus station in Silver Ponds. Therefore, for those who like to travel by public transport, you can get here from the capital by train or bus. Travel time is approximately three hours.
By train
The first train through the Silver Ponds passed back in 1898.
Distance Moscow - Silver Ponds can be overcome by train from Paveletsky railway station, but, unfortunately, the path is not straight - you will have to change at Uzunovo station. The journey will take 3.5-5.5 hours.
Can be reached by passing southbound trains from Paveletsky Station. Their number increases during the holiday season. Travel time is three to four hours. The fare will cost 400-500 rubles.

The bus Moscow - Serebryanye Prudy arrives at Sovetskaya Street, from where you can get to any part of the city on foot or by taxi. The fare for a taxi varies between 200 rubles.
From "Krasnogvardeyskaya" to the bus station three minutes walk. Exit towards the first car from the center. When exiting through the glass doors of the metro, turn right, go through the underpass about five meters to the left and go up the stairs to the city. On the left side in the direction of travel is the Krasnogvardeiskaya bus station, from where the bus leaves for Serebryanye Prudy.
