Sights of the Tula region take their roots from the distant past. In 1503, Prince Ivan Vasilievich took Tula into his possession, and the city became the property of the Muscovite state. In order to make the road to Moscow safe, the ruler ordered the construction of an oak fortress in Tula. Seven years later, construction began on a stone city inside this fortress, modeled on the Kremlin of the capital.

The Tula Kremlin became a hiding place for False Dmitry, the boyars came here to swear allegiance to the impostor. It was called "a city within a city". Almost the entire population lived in it. The historical Tula region has been creating sights of its Kremlin for a long time. Bolshaya Kremlyovskaya Street, the first of all in Tula, was also located here.
