Sardinia has always been popular with Europeans. In recent years, more and more often you can see our compatriots here. Despite the fact that Sardinia is an island, getting here is much easier than many mainland resorts in Italy. Modern comfortable ferries regularly go here, flights from most European countries are established. Any airport in Sardinia, and there are three of them, is able to receive a fairly large flow of tourists.
Cagliari airport is located in the south of the island. Sardinia receives planes from Europe here: Dusseldorf and Rome, Pisa, Frankfurt am Main and Berlin, Milan and Paris. If you have chosen one of the southern resorts as your holiday destination, it will be more convenient for you to fly through one of these cities. In the south of Sardinia, there are gorgeous beaches and luxury hotels. Forte Village Resort is located here, which has already received the title of the best resort in the world several times. On theit's definitely worth a look!
The largest airport in Sardinia is located in the north of the island near the city of Olbia, it is called the Costa Smeralda. Flights from all European cities are accepted here, plus charter flights from Moscow and St. Petersburg also arrive here. This airport will be convenient for those who are going to rest on the northeast coast. Here are the boutique hotels of the famous Starwood chain, where celebrities and stars, politicians and businessmen prefer to relax. On the Costa Smeralda you may be offered scuba diving. The entertainment industry is widely developed in this part of the island: night discos and sports facilities, various amusement parks and restaurants with excellent cuisine.
Flights from Nordic countries and low-cost airlines are served by another international airport in Sardinia - Alghero. It is convenient to fly here for residents of the north-west of Russia and St. Petersburg - this is where the flight fromlands
Finland, from Tampere (via Frankfurt). In the summer months, a plane flies here from Kyiv. This Sardinian airport will be convenient for those who are attracted by hotels in the northwest of the island.
If you are going to Sardinia during the high season, then there should be no problems - charter flights are regularly organized. At any other time of the year, you can get to the coveted island through Dusseldorf (Air Berlin), Rome (Aeroflot or AlItalia carriers). These are the most commonly used options, but this does not mean that you cannot choose your own route.
When you get to the island, you can easily solve the problem of transportation on the spot: there are many companies that offer car rentals. They can be rented with or without a driver, as per your choice. But renting a car is not at all necessary - the island has an excellent bus service, and all major cities are connected by rail. So you can get around in one of these ways.
You can also get to Sardinia by ferry. Then you will enjoy the view of the approaching island to your heart's content, and the sight is amazing. But still, the fastest way to get to the island of Sardinia is the airport (albeit not the most exciting), so the choice is yours. Even if you arrive by plane, hire a boat and go out to sea - it's worth a lot. If you don't believe me, check it out, but if you don't, you will definitely regret it.
