There are many interesting objects and significant historical and cultural sights in the vastness of Russia. Some of them were more fortunate - museums were opened on their territory, only facades were preserved from others, and the internal premises were long transferred to some public institutions, while others were preserved only in the form of ruins. The last category includes the Grebnevo complex - a manor and a park located in an incredibly picturesque place.
History of Creation
The estate complex was designed and built under the guidance of architect I. Vetrov. The customer and the first owner of the estate was the boyar B. Ya. Belsky. The complex begins its history in the 16th century. Later, in different periods, the estate was owned by: General G. I. Bibikov, the Golitsyns, the merchant Panteleev. Each of the owners complemented the architectural ensemble, trying to improve and remake something. In 1845, the merchant Panteleev reequipped the main palace for distillery and vitriol production, as a result of which irreparable damage was caused to the original interior decoration. But, despite all these alterations in Grebnevo, the estate has retainedits facade to this day, albeit in a very neglected form.
Manor complex in the XX century
In 1913, the main buildings were repaired, and a private sanatorium was opened in Grebnevo. Dr. F. A. Grinevsky led this institution. It is worth noting that the estate complex is located on a fairly large area. It included the main palace, two wings, two churches, luxurious front gates, outbuildings and decorative elements. In addition, a well-maintained park was laid out around the central house, turning into apple orchards. The windows of the palace and the front yard overlooked a picturesque pond.
During Soviet times, the estate housed a sanatorium named after N. A. Semashko, then a bone-tuberculosis sanatorium, and after that - the Shchelkovsky technical school and the house of culture. In the 1980s, the value of the Grebnevo complex was recognized, the estate turned into an open cultural center. The reserve existed until 1991. The cause of his death and emergency closure was a fire, as a result of which the main palace was seriously damaged.
Grebnevo estate: a history of decline today
Today the object belongs to the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, but in fact it is not protected and can be identified as ownerless. On the basis of this, the estate is very popular among fans of extreme tourism. The problem lies in the fact that not all visitors take care of the monument of history and architecture. Year by year, the condition of the remaining buildings is deteriorating - the stone walls are crumbling, the survivingcovered with graffiti and less elaborate drawings. On the shore of a reservoir in the shade of an ancient apple orchard, tourists fry kebabs in warm weather, sometimes leaving garbage behind.
A vast park area today is partially given over to private development. If the attitude of the owner to this object does not change, the forecast for the estate is the most deplorable. And yet, even today, there is still something to fight for. Although the ceilings have long failed, in some places interesting fragments of the interior decoration remained. Until 2007, the central marble staircase to the second floor and the two-color hall were intact. Today, inside the main house, you can admire the remains of stucco and appreciate the incredibly beautiful view from the windows of the lake.
Former grandeur of the complex
During the heyday Grebnevo (estate) looked majestic and pompous. At the entrance there was a large gate in the form of a triumphal arch, they were decorated with sculptures of lions and sphinxes. The large pond had as many as eight islands, and the park surrounding the complex was decorated in a classic French style. The front yard struck the imagination with its size and clear geometric shape. In combination with large-scale architectural buildings, the ennobled territory gave the impression of a real palace park.
On the sides of the main building are outbuildings, one of which had a balcony overlooking the front yard. Two pavilions with domes adjoin the main palace on the sides, one of them had its own theater under the first owner. The main house hasprotruding central entrance, decorated with a six-column portico and a pediment.
Grebnevo (estate): how to get there by car or public transport
There are several ways to get to the historical estate from Moscow. Short-range passenger electric trains run from the Yaroslavsky railway station (Komsomolskaya metro station). It is necessary to get to the Fryazino-Passenger station, and then recover on foot. You can also get to Fryazino by taxi. Transport departs from the Shchelkovskaya metro station, route number - 361. If desired, you can also get there by private car. The movement must be carried out along the Shchelkovo highway, then you need to turn onto Fryazino, and after it turn behind the bridge over the Lyuboseevka River and drive through the settlement. In dry weather, the road is quite good, and you can even get to the estate by an ordinary car.
Memo to tourists
If you are interested in the abandoned estate Grebnevo, and you want to visit it, you should prepare for the trip in advance. Choose the most comfortable clothes, prepare a navigator (a navigator program can be downloaded to a modern phone), stock up on drinks and take snacks. Plan a route in advance and study it on the map, taking into account the chosen mode of transport. The territory of the estate complex is not guarded today, and everyone can freely get here.
Be careful: close toThe historical ruins are inhabited by stray dogs, for the most part they are peaceful and accustomed to the company of tourists. Do not forget that the Grebnevo estate (Schelkovsky district) is in a deplorable state today. If you decide to inspect the buildings inside, look under your feet and up - the remains of buildings crumble almost before your eyes. Don't forget to take your camera with you. Even if only pathetic echoes remain from the original splendor in Grebnevo, the pictures against their background are incredibly beautiful.
