Hundreds of thousands of tourists come to Florence every year, because the historic center of the city has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Florence has numerous museums, the famous Uffizi Art Gallery, and architectural monuments of the Renaissance. Thanks to its artistic and architectural heritage, Florence is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Flight to Florence

Florence (Peretola) Amerigo Vespucci Airport is the second largest airport in Tuscany after Pisa Airport. It is located 4 kilometers from the center of Florence on an area of about 115 hectares.

From the city to the airport, buses run every half an hour from the central railway station, and a tram line is also being built that will connect the center and the air gate of Florence.

Flights depart from Florence to major European cities, but unfortunately, a direct flight from Moscow to Florenceno. You can choose a flight with a transfer in Zurich, Paris, Frankfurt am Main or Fiumicino.

Train station

Santa Maria Novella Station is the main station of the city with an annual passenger flow of 59 million people. The building, designed by Giovanni Michelucci, is located in Piazza della Stazione, not far from the masterpiece of Renaissance architecture, Fortezza da Basso, in front of the basilica of the same name, from which the station takes its name.

From Florence train station, trains go to intercity destinations and international routes: to Austria, France, Germany and Switzerland.

Intercity trains connect Florence with other Italian cities. About 90 trains depart from the station a day, and ticket prices start at 7.90 euros, depending on the destination.

Intercity night trains allow travelers to save some money without sacrificing comfort and quality. To travel on night flights, a special ticket is issued, and on the train you need to present an identity document.

All international trains have the following services:

• Multilingual information displays showing train routes, tourist attractions and timetables.
• Power supplies for charging phones.
• Bicycle transport service.

High-speed trains

FRECCIAROSSA - trains with a maximum speed of 300kilometers per hour. They connect Florence Station with major Italian cities: Rome, Milan, Venice.

FRECCIARGENTO - can travel both on the high-speed line and on the regular one. The maximum speed of the train is 250 kilometers per hour. There are daily flights from Florence to Rome and some cities in Northern and Southern Italy.

FRECCIABIANCA - ordinary passenger trains providing routes to small towns in Italy.

Another Florence station, Campo di Marte, is used by passengers from the nearby countryside.

Florence bus station

SITA Central Bus Station is next to the train station. From the station there are flights to many cities in Italy. There is an information board at the station, which indicates:

• Flight number.
• Starting destination.
• Final destination.
• Carrier company name.
• Availability.
• Time of arrival, departure and estimated delay.
