History of Belavia Airlines

Fleet

All foreign cars were purchased by the company on a leasing basis. At the end of 2013, in May, the company bought the sixth Boeing-737-300 from Carpatair Corporation (Romania). The company is betting on the reconstruction of its air fleet.

According to russiaplane.net, Belavia also received An-24, Tu-154 B 2/M, Tu-134 A and one Il-86 from Aeroflot. The last aircraft served in the fleet from 1994 to 1996: it flew to China and the USA. A little later, it was transferred to Atlant-Soyuz, as there were few passengers - flights became unprofitable.

Today Belavia transports passengers on Boeing 737-500 (6 cars), Boeing 737-300 (9 cars), Tu-154M (3 cars), CRJ-100/200 LR (4 cars), Embraer-175 (two ordered aircraft), Boeing 737-BBJ2 (VIP aircraft used only by the authorities of the Republic of Belarus).

Luggage rules

Belavia tries not to overload its planes. Economy class passengers can have up to 8 kg of hand luggage with a size of no more than 55 x 40 x 20 cm per piece of baggage, and business class - up to 12 kg of the same parameters.

What about checked baggage? One cargo piece of business class can hold up to 30 kg of things with parameters no more than 50 x 50 x 100 cm, and economy class - up to 20 kg of the same dimensions.

A nineteen-year-old aircraft of the same brand with tail number EW-282 PA ended up with Belavia in June 2009. In 1995, the steel bird began working for Continental Airlines (USA), eight years later, 1.5 years served with Ryanair, then in China for five years.

The aircraft arrived at the Belavia fleet in 2013, in May.
The twenty-five-year-old Boeing-737-300 with tail number EW-386 PA is the main veteran of the Boeings belonging to Belavia. The liner was made in 1989, worked in different companies in Holland until 2002, then left for Norwegian. For about three years he served in Lithuania. This car is one of the last ones received by a Belarusian company through leasing.
The 300th Boeing EW-404 PA is 22 years old. This is another "old man" who arrived in Minsk in 2014. It was assembled in 1992 and served in Germany, Malaysia, Lithuania and Greece.
