In the Solnechnogorsk region, north of the city of Solnechnogorsk, there is the cleanest and largest lake Senezh in the Moscow region. The photos of this reservoir, which are in this article, cannot fully convey all its charms. Every summer, thousands of vacationers come here in search of peace. It is said that Lake Senezh is rich in fish and is a favorite place for anglers. They can be seen here at any time of the year, even when the reservoir is covered with a thick layer of ice.

Description and location

Senezhskoye Lake is an artificially created reservoir. It is located approximately 60 kilometers from Moscow, on the outskirts of the city of Solnechnogorsk. The coastline is 16 kilometers long and approximately nine hectares in area (the maximum width is three kilometers and the length is about 5 km). The greatest depth of the lake is 6 meters, and the average is about three meters. The reservoir has an irregular shape, since numerous bays form uneven outlines of the coast. In the bay, which is formed at the mouth of the Sestra River, there are small islands (with an area of 2hectares). At sunset, they turn bright crimson. Because of this, they were called so - Crimson.

The bottom of the lake is muddy, a lot of algae grows near the shores. The river Sestra originates from Senezh. There are many settlements on the lake: cities, villages, villages, etc. Here are the names of some of them: Talaevo, Osipovo, Reino, Timonovo, Vertilino, Zagorye, Gigirevo, Senezh, Bogorodskoye, etc.

Senezhskoye lake - a source of inspiration

At the end of the nineteenth century, the great Russian painter I. Levitan came to the village of Bogorodskoye in search of inspiration. He was so struck by the beauty of these places that he decided to temporarily settle in the village and painted his painting "Lake. Russia", which later became one of his best works. Ten kilometers from Lake Senezh was the estate of the genius of the pen Alexander Blok. The poet often took walks to the pond. Its stunning view at different times of the day set Blok in a creative mood. Full of creative ideas, he returned home and took up his pen.

In Soviet times, a commission consisting of builders and architects, artists and party workers came to Solnechnogorsk in search of a beautiful place for the Artists' Rest House. History

Until the beginning of the 19th century, there was no Senezhskoye Lake. In its place was a small lake Gushchino. However, when an almost 9-kilometer canal was dug between the Sestra and Istra rivers, more than 30 locks were erected (13 on the Istra, more than 20 on the Sestra), dams and bridges were built, then in the upper reaches of the Sestra River, having swallowed Lake Gushchinino, as a result of an increase volume of water, a new artificial reservoir was formed - Lake Senezhskoye. Two rivers feed from it: Sister and Mazikha.

Here you can meet a wide variety of aquatic inhabitants: pike perch, perch, crucian carp, pike, carp, roach, bream and even royal ruff, named in this way because of its large size. Keep in mind that the shoreline of the lake stretches for almost 20 km, and at such a great distance there will always be a secluded place where no one will disturb you.

Features of fishing on Lake Senezh

The best time to fish is windy weather, especially when it blows from the south. However, after the northern and western winds in the central part of the reservoir and up to the Raspberry Islands, abundant fishing begins. In autumn, in sunny weather, you can hunt for the lake predator - pike. The end of pike fishing comes with the first formation of ice. This period lasts until the complete disappearance of the ice crust. But in winter you can catch perches, ruffs, perch, etc. With the onset of spring, breams and ruffs stand out with special activity. Locals say that fishing for these fish is especially successful on a full moon. In addition, according to the old-timers, in these places it is best to fish from the middle of the lake, sitting in a boat. Coastal fishing is only possible at night or in spring.

Base of anglers on Senezh

Since fishing on Lake Senezh is very popular among residents of nearbysettlements, as well as for visitors from Moscow and other cities, a base has been created on the island, which belongs to the Society of Athletes-Anglers.

On the territory of the base there is a guest house with excellent cuisine. At the request of anglers, they are provided with a separate refrigerator for storing their catch, or a stove if they wish to prepare a dish from their prey on their own. Many vacationers come here in their own cars, but there is a train from Moscow to Solnechnogorsk, which will take amateur anglers to the shores of Lake Senezh in an hour and a half.
