Krasnoyarsk is a large city of the Russian Federation, is the cultural and industrial center of the East and Central part of Siberia. The settlement spreads along both banks of the Yenisei River, in a place where the West Siberian Plain and the Central Siberian Plateau join in the gorge. There are more than 15 parks and squares in the city.

Central Park of Krasnoyarsk

This is one of the oldest "green islands" of the city. It is located on the left bank of the Yenisei, in the historical center.

Total occupied area - 15 hectares. It borders on the streets of Dzerzhinsky, Dubrovinsky, Karl Marx and Gorky. Central entrance in the northern part of the park, on Revolution Square.

Historical background

In Krasnoyarsk, the Central Park was founded in 1828. At that time, a partly virgin pine forest became the basis of the city park. The main part of the improvement work was carried out in the period from 1845 to 1861. During this time, a pavilion for evening cultural events and a building for public meetings with a buffet were erected.

With the advent of Soviet Power, in 1934 the City Garden received a new name - Park of Culture and Leisure named afterA. M. Gorky. Then the whole territory was divided into two parts:

• active, where rides were located;
• quiet, where rare species of trees that remained at that time remained to grow.

In 2002, the authorities of Krasnoyarsk handed over Central Park to private hands - on lease for a period of 25 years.

Opening hours and directions

Today, the former City Garden has 4 entrances: from Karl Marx Street, Dzerzhinsky Street, Gorky Street and from the embankment. The park is open to visitors from 11:00 to 23:00, admission is free.

The closest public transport stops to the central entrance along Karla Marksa Street are the stop of the same name, the Organ Hall and the Luch Cinema. Many buses pass through this part of the city: No. 1, 2, 11, 24, 32, 49, 55, 64, 80 and others. Trolleybuses also pass - No. 7, 8 and 15.

You can drive your own vehicle to the park, there is free parking near the main entrance. Having left for the center of Krasnoyarsk, you need to move in the direction of Dubrovsky Street, then go along Lenina or Mira Street to Karl Marx (one-way traffic is on it).

Small railway

In the Central Park of Krasnoyarsk in the summer (from 11:30, except Monday) there is a small railway, which launched its first train back in 1936. All rolling stock of the railway is specially manufactured, which is unique for our country. Near the railway there are 2 stations "Yubileinaya" and"Dream". The train runs around the ring through the entire territory of the park.

Rides and park scheme

What amusement park can do without carousels. Naturally, the Central Park of Krasnoyarsk could not do without them. There are activities for all ages, including extreme carousels.

On the left side of the main entrance there is a cafe and a trampoline platform. And on the right side there is a room of laughter and fear, behind which there is a playground immediately.

If you go straight along the main avenue of the Central Park of Krasnoyarsk, you get to the observation deck of the city. It offers a magnificent view of the Yenisei River surrounded by mountains. Here on the embankment there is another attraction of the city - the Bench of Lovers, overlooking the Wedding House. The peculiarity of the shop is that even if you sit on the very edges, the couple will still slide towards the center.

On the left side of the park, closer to the exit near the cinema "Luch" and to Dzerzhinsky Street behind the monument to Gorky M., there is a race track for children and a family entertainment area with attractions for young visitors. There is a tennis court right behind them.

If you move along the Central Alley and turn left before exiting the Embankment, here you can find a Ferris wheel and carousels for family entertainment. And just before the exit to Dzerzhinsky Street there is a zoo of exotic animals and a shooting range.

On the right side (behind the monument to Pushkin A. and the dance floor) there is a race track for adults with extreme rides. These are Hip-Hop, Cotton Club, Surprise and others. And closer to the exit to Gorky Street there is a chess club.

As the locals say, it is impossible to come to our region without taking a photo of the Krasnoyarsk Central Park as a keepsake. It is here that the spirit of the old city "hovers".
