Golovinsky ponds have a huge influx of people. There are many who want to relax close to home. Especially fishermen who are unable to travel outside their settlement often come here.
Each Golovinsky pond is in a fairly good ecological situation, except for the Upper one. Some vacationers consider these reservoirs polluted, in fact the water in them is clear. The time interval in which the ponds begin to "bloom" is due only to its excellent ecological condition. Water is "alive".
Name
The name "Golovinsky Pond" came from the village of Golovino, which was owned by the noble family of the same name. Reservoirs are located in the north-west of Moscow, in the same area, near the local cemetery. Golovinskiye Ponds are a system consisting of three water areas: Bolshoi, Upper and Maly. They were built in the 18th century on the stream of the same name. The latter originates in the Khimki reservoir, passes through the Upper, Small and Bolshoi ponds, then the canal flows into the Likhoborka tributary. The reservoirs are quite full-flowing: a strong current is noticeable in the ponds.
Let's look into history
EveryoneGolovinsky Pond has a very interesting history of formation, given that they are all combined into one system. Since the 16th century, the village has often changed owners, and the most typical landowner's estate appeared by the middle of the 19th century. She immediately became famous for her rare peach trees with delicious fruits. The last owner of the estate was a religious person and bequeathed her estate to the monastery. At the end of the century, a school and a hospital were opened under him, and during the war, the sisters nursed the wounded. In the early 1930s the religious institution was closed. This was the history of the formation of the village of the same name, in which the reservoirs are located.
Upper Golovinsky Pond
The Upper Pond is the smallest of the reservoirs. Its length is about 240 m, it is 165 m wide, and its area is 3.4 hectares.
Pond of irregular oval shape, with banks overgrown with sharp sedge. The water is poisoned with duckweed and mud, the footpath is natural - in a word, a simple lake unsuitable for swimming, and among the fishermen there are few who like to try to catch something in the thickets. Here, most often there are tourists who love a calm and peaceful holiday on the banks of the reservoir.
Small Pond
Small pond has irregular banks. Its length is 350 m, width is about 125 m, area is 3.8 ha. It is connected to the Upper very picturesque stone channel. A lot of people fish along the banks of this pond - the reservoir is simply teeming with fish, fortunately, cleaning work is constantly carried out in it. Not less people come to him to sunbathe, swim, barbecue. Of course, all this is not officially allowed, but those who live among stone and concrete care about the approval of the authorities like last year's snow.
Earlier, the oldest of all textile enterprises, the fine-cloth factory im. Peter Alekseev, founded by the merchant Iokish at the beginning of the 19th century. Five years ago, in 2011, the plant was closed, many old buildings were barbarously demolished, and the construction of a residential complex was started on this site.
Big Golovinsky Pond
The Big Pond differs from the first two in that the northern shore of the pond is reinforced with reinforced concrete slabs with a spillway. It is the largest. Its length is 500 m, its average width is 270 m, the area is almost half the size of the other two ponds, amounting to 7.5 hectares.
If you pass over the bridge that lies across the channel of the Big and Small Ponds, you can admire the edge with ancient trees, many of which have reached three hundred years of age. The memorial plaque "Oaks" enlightens all those interested. The trees have seen the former owners of Mikhalkovo, a village not far from Golovin. For those wishing to ride on the picturesque lake on water transport, the boat station in the southeast has hospitably opened its doors from 10:00 to 23:00. An hour of rental will cost five thousand rubles. A little further from the station is the official free beach. It has a comfortable sandy shore and a smooth entry. Nearby is a picnic area and an old manor of the XVIII century - "Mikhailovo".
