Sheremetyevo is the most famous airport in the Moscow region. It is the largest in terms of passenger traffic in Russia and is also among the twenty largest air gates in Europe.
Studying the airport plan to save time
Now we will consider the plan of Sheremetyevo Airport, which will help us understand the designations of the terminals. There are several of them here. They are designated by the letters A, B, C, D, E, F. There is a special complex for various cargoes called Sheremetyevo-Cargo. Terminals B and C are currently closed due to the construction of a new terminal B building.
The plan of Sheremetyevo Airport includes Terminal A, which serves business aviation passengers. By location, it is located in the northeastern part of Sheremetyevo and east of Terminal C. Terminal B was located next to C, namely in the northern part of the airport. The terminal has eight seats serving Aeroflot aircraft. There are also 22 seats in the western sector serving business aviation aircraft, five seats in the eastern sector for cargo flights. In June-August 2014, the terminal served passengers of Dobrolet, a more budget airline. ATSeptember 2014, it had to be closed due to the start of construction of a new building.
Terminal C is located next to Terminal B, in the northern part. Usually charter flights are served here. There are 30 counters where passengers check in, as well as thirty-six booths for passport control, automatic screening of all luggage and its sorting. In April 2017, it was decided to temporarily close Terminal C in order to integrate it with the new Terminal B.
New terminals
The plan of Sheremetyevo Airport also includes terminal D, which is located in the southern part. Terminals E and F also operate there. Since 2012, the terminal has been considered Sheremetyevo International Airport. The very first flight was made in November 2009 to the city of Sochi. Terminal E began operating in 2010. It serves flights of Aeroflot partners and other Aeroflot destinations.
In the same southern part is Terminal F. It has a forecourt, hotels, an air terminal with air bridges and other industrial buildings.
Airport Cargo Facility
This complex processes and receives cargo, performs their issuance, provides information on air mail transportation. We reviewed the basic plan of Sheremetyevo Airport. The division into terminals made it convenient to navigate in the station building. I would like to hope that the ease of use, high-quality passenger service will not leave anyone indifferent. Today, everyonecan come to Sheremetyevo airport, buy a ticket and go wherever they want. Have a good flight!
