"Rocket" - the motor ship of the era of the Komsomol, red banners, solemn rallies and congresses. Such an affordable miracle of technology of the seventies of the last century was doomed to fame, romanticism and universal love. Which is exactly what happened to him. "Rocket" is a ship, one of the few that, having started its journey almost fifty years ago, successfully continue it to this day to the delight of people.
First descent
The first "Rocket" was launched on the Moscow River in 1957. Its descent was timed to coincide with the sixth World Festival of Youth and Students (well, how can it be without romance!).
Khrushchev received the "Rocket". He was so impressed with its speed, maneuverability and design that he awarded the designers and developers led by Rostislav Alekseev the Lenin Prize.
A parade of ships was held at the festival, which was opened in 1957 by "Rocket". The ship was greeted with a storm of applause from the participants and close attention of foreign guests.
So with a light hand and an enchanting start, the "Rocket" went along the rivers of Russia and abroad.
Techniquefuture
"Rocket" is a hydrofoil ship. For the middle of the twentieth century, this, of course, was a breakthrough. It developed speeds up to sixty kilometers per hour, was intended for the transport of passengers, but had a compact size, which allowed it to comfortably move along rivers and pass under bridges.
For almost fifteen years of production, about four hundred "Rockets" have been launched. Thirty-two of them were exported.
"Rocket" is a prototype ship. She became the ancestor of passenger hydrofoil boats, and her name is a household name. And now "Rockets" are called almost all vessels similar to it in design.
With its appearance, it became much easier to get to hard-to-reach places by water, it was a great help to people living along the banks of the big rivers of our Motherland.
Our pride
Let's see what the legendary ship "Rocket" looks like (photo below).
We were so proud of her that we even released Rocket pins.
Light, graceful, swift, they called her "Rocket" for a reason.
We can only dream of peace
Despite half a century of history, the "Rocket" is a ship that has not only survived to this day, but is also actively used in river navigation. They "fly" along the Lena, the Ob and even the Yenisei.
True, today her mission has become morerelaxed and pleasant - do not lose their popularity walks on the ship "Rocket". After all, it has an open deck at the stern, from which it is so interesting to watch the shores passing by, exposing your face and hands to the cool splashes of water.
As then, so now, schoolchildren travel on "Rockets" in classes, students - in groups, and the rest - in families or couples. For young children, such walks can be very educational, especially if you prepare easy and interesting information about the route. It is sometimes cheaper and more convenient for a mushroom picker to get to the treasured places by water, and the light "Rocket" will bring him quickly and comfortably.
If you are tired of everyday fuss, petty troubles, and you want something new, exciting, unusual, get to the water and go up to the deck of the good old "Rocket". She and I have something to remember, and to dream too…
