History

Until the fifteenth century, the territory of this green zone was not built up. Its significant part was occupied by meadows, groves and pastures. Starting from the 16th century, the territory located along the bed of the Samoteka River flowing here began to be actively built up. Thus, the Ex altation of the Cross Monastery, the royal village, and later the Church of Tryphon appeared here. In the eighteenth century, the country estate of Count V. S altykov began to be built in this area, next to which a small park with a pond was subsequently laid out. In 1807, the estate was rebuilt, since that time the Catherine Women's Institute has been located in it.

The northern sections of the park gradually begin to be ennobled, two large streets appear. In 1888 Alexander Immer - Commerce Councilor and Honorary Citizen - rentsa small part of the territory where he creates a plant nursery, an experimental station, as well as numerous hotbeds and greenhouses.
