The history of the recreation area

In the 1980s, active construction of residential microdistricts was carried out in Maryino. At the site of the modern Brateevsky Park, there was then an unattractive wasteland, where active sand mining was carried out. As a result of excavation of a significant amount of soil, a bay was formed here, which existed until the early 2000s.

During the construction of the Lefortovsky tunnel, a decision was made to improve the Brateevskaya embankment. Soil was brought here, released during the work. The bay was filled up, an original relief was formed with an abundance of terraces and hills. It was decided to turn this place into the Brateevsky cascade park. The grand opening of the recreation area took place in 2006.

However, the park did not receive enough care. The recreation area quickly became littered and lost its original picturesque appearance.

Beautification of Brateevsky Park in 2016

In 2006, the cascade park on Brateevskaya embankment experienced its second birth. As part of the improvement of the green areas of the capital, stairs and paths were repaired here, street lamps were replaced, and flower beds were laid out. Brateevsky cascade park has become more beautiful and well-groomed. There are new benches, sports and playgrounds. Today it is a full-fledged family recreation area.

The total area of the park is 38.9 hectares. A convenient network of paths has been created for walking. All stairs are equipped with safe ramps.
