Krasnodar is one of the most beautiful and most comfortable cities in the south of Russia. The fortress, founded by the Black Sea Cossacks by decree of Empress Catherine II in 1793, became an outpost of the southern gates of the Russian Empire. Ekaterinodar (literally "the gift of Catherine") - the first name of the city, which existed until 1920, when the Bolsheviks came to power. Since then, by decision of the People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs of the RSFSR, the city received its current name. City Garden
One of the oldest parks in the city is located on the southern outskirts of Krasnodar. It was founded in 1848 by order of the Viceroy of the Caucasus, Prince M. S. Vorontsov. Since that time, thousands of cuttings of trees, rose bushes and various flowers have been planted in the garden.
In 1932, the park was named after the writer M. Gorky. At the same time, a pond appears on the south side of the garden. Before the start of the Great Patriotic War, the City Garden was one of the most beautiful parks in the south of Russia. During the war years, this and other parks in Krasnodar werealmost completely destroyed. Krasnodar residents had to make a lot of effort, time and money to restore the park. But today it is one of the favorite places for recreation of the townspeople. On the territory of the park there are concert venues, attractions for children and adults, cafes and alleys, in the depths of which you can relax in silence from the bustle of the city.
Park "Sunny Island"
Solnechny Ostrov Park is located on one of the islands in the floodplain of the Kuban River. In 1959, the Solar Park was created on the site of the Gorzelentrest nursery. Krasnodar has at its disposal another unique place for citizens to relax.
In the park, in addition to the traditional set of entertainment (attractions for children and adults, various cafes and concert venues), there is an opportunity for physical education and sports. So, at the entrance to the park you can rent bicycles. And in the depths of the island you can find volleyball and football grounds, a tennis court, and exercise equipment for strength training. The presence of an ice rink for figure skating and hockey is something that other parks in Krasnodar cannot boast of. Another attraction of this complex is "Safari Park", which is the only private zoo in the country. On an area of 10 hectares, fish and crocodiles, giraffes and lions, monkeys, kangaroos and more than 100 exotic animals are comfortably located.

Built fountains and well-groomed alleys, beautiful flower beds and new playgrounds for children quickly gained popularity among the townspeople. Today, there is the largest and most modern town for children here. The main highlight of the grove is the unique attraction "Rope Park".
