Cases of bygone days…
For several centuries, the gentle slope on which this park is located was called Poklonnaya Gora. Visiting people were fascinated by the city panorama, local beauties and, bowing, left gifts as a sign of respect. However, according to another version, a bow (back in feudal times) was a tax obligatory for all travelers entering the city.
