The main natural attraction of the Far East is the most important water transport artery - the Amur River, on the banks of which the city of Khabarovsk is located.
The favorite resting place of Khabarovsk residents and guests of the city is the central square, which can be considered a unique complex of architecture. Among the green grove, on an area of about eight thousand square meters, there is one main fountain and eight small ones, various types of lamps and at least a thousand hydraulic devices.
The sights of Khabarovsk include several churches.
Innokenty Church. The history of its construction is connected with the first settlers who, having landed on the banks of the Amur River, built a small wooden chapel. In the seventies of the nineteenth century, in a place called Military Mountain, a wooden church was erected, which was given the name Innokentevskaya in honor of the first Bishop of Irkutsk - the patron saint of the Far East and Siberia, St. Innokenty. The wooden church was replaced by a stone church in 1898. During the Bolshevik rule, it was adapted as a utility room, like many other churches in Russia. In the nineties of the twentiethcentury, it was returned to believers, more precisely, they returned what was left of the church. Restoration was carried out according to old photographs
Assumption Cathedral - the face of the city. Attractions like this, perhaps, you will not find more in the city. Built in the medieval Pskov-Novgorod style by the Khabarovsk architect Yuri Viktorovich Podlesny, the cathedral is a real gem of the city's architecture. The temple reaches forty meters in height and has one chapel dedicated to the early Christian martyr Tatiana and two more side ones. The cathedral is located in a forest park area not far from one of the largest universities in Khabarovsk. In the 2000s of our century, the temple began to be restored after destruction in the thirtieth year of the last century, and now the Assumption Cathedral shines with its domes
Sights of Khabarovsk include the Transfiguration Cathedral - the tallest Orthodox building in the Far East. The height of the temple is eighty-three meters. The first stone was laid at the beginning of the 2000s of our century. The cathedral has five domes and was built on donations from the population of the Khabarovsk Territory and at the expense of various local commercial organizations. The upper hall of the temple is designed for two thousand people, the lower one accommodates one and a half thousand. The cathedral is located on the high bank of the Amur River.
Besides Christian monuments, Khabarovsk has sights and quite secular ones, for example:
