Jiangsu is a Chinese province located in the east of the country. It is washed by the waters of the Yellow Sea and the Yangtze River. This region is one of the most important in the state. It occupies a leading position in many respects. For example, in terms of economic development in the agricultural and industrial sectors, and even in terms of the standard of living of the local population. Since very ancient times, Jiangsu province has been part of China, and the presence of the most beautiful ancient cities in the country is a material confirmation of this.

Everyone knows that Beijing is the capital of China. In addition, few people have not heard of a city like Shanghai. It is the most densely populated in the world. China is a highly developed country that can be called the absolute leader in many areas of industry. In terms of its economy, which stands firmly on its feet, it became the first in the world, overtaking the Japanese in 2010 and the American in 2014. Where else has China become a leader? First, it has the mostlarge-scale gold and foreign exchange reserves, and secondly, it is the largest exporter in our vast world. The state is a member of many associations, the following can be distinguished: the UN, G20, WTO, SCO, etc. In terms of territory, China ranks third, behind Russia and Canada.

However, few people know that Nanjing has been officially declared the Chinese capital several times throughout its history. At present, this city, sometimes referred to as Nanjing, is the center of such a region as Jiangsu Province. In addition to it, it includes the following settlements: Wuxi, Changzhou, Suzhou, Nantong, Taizhou, Zhenjiang, Lianyungang, Huai'an, Yancheng, Yangzhou, Xuzhou.

Relief

The relief of the region is mostly flat. In some places in the northern and western parts there are hills. It is established that Jiangsu Province is famous for Yongtai Mountain. It is the highest point in the area. The mountain rises 625 m above the water surface. The length of the coast along the sea border is 100 km.

Reservoirs

Among all the existing provinces of the People's Republic of China, it is Jiangsu that has the most inland water bodies (that is, those that flow in this territory without capturing others). For example, in the described Chinese province, there is the largest lake in the country, called Tai Hui. And in the southern part flows the largest river in China - the Yangtze.

In the 7th century, Jiangsu Province became the site of the construction of the Imperial Canal, which exists inthese days. It unites the two most famous rivers of the People's Republic of China - the Yellow River and the Yangtze. Its length is almost 700 km. It is the most important transport road from north to south.

Population

Home to more than 79 million people, Jiangsu Province ranks fifth in the country in terms of population. Of course, almost all of them are Chinese (99%). Here the locals speak the same dialect. This is not surprising, because this nation is the most common. In addition, China is the most populated state in the world.

Economy

Jiangsu Province (China) also has a wide development in various fields. Its economy is considered one of the strongest in the state. However, it should be noted that not all settlements of this province are developed equally. There is a significant difference between cities here. The southern ones stand out in particular - they have the highest standard of living (on average, twice as much as the rest).

Mineral resources

Minerals in this province are few, because for the development of the country's economy, they are of no particular importance. Basically, the extraction and processing of marble, sulfur, rock s alt is carried out here. According to these indicators, Jiangsu Province (PRC) is one of the richest in the state. Light and food industries have been developing here since ancient times. And after the communists came to power, heavy industry also developed widely. Among the most influential areas arechemical, building materials and oil. Relatively recently, the production of electronics and mechanical engineering were added to them, which were able to raise the whole world to their feet. Thanks to the improvement of these economic indicators, Jiangsu Province began to develop its other cities, equating them with the capital Nanjing.

Throughout its history, this Chinese province has had the highest rate of agricultural activity due to its natural landscapes and well-developed irrigation system. The rice and tea that the country supplies is known to the whole world. In this province, as well as in the rest of the state, cereal plants and wheat are grown. Many other food crops can be added to them. Of animal husbandry, pig breeding is the most developed here.

The main attraction of Jiangsu Province is the Buddha statue, which is 88 meters high.
