The Filevsky Park station, which opened in 1961 on the Fili-Pionerskaya line of the Moscow Metro, is located on the territory of the Western Administrative District of Moscow between the Pionerskaya and Bagrationovskaya stations right under Minskaya Street.
The article will give some information about the Filevsky Park metro station, but first we will present general information and a brief history about the area of the same name.
General information
In Moscow, in addition to the metro station of the same name, there is a district and a park. All of them are located in the same district of the capital, and their names come from the small village of Fili (there are some versions concerning the river with the same name), on the site of which this huge picturesque green corner is located. In addition, the huge Filevsky Park is located on the lands of the former villages of Mazilovo and Kuntsevo.
In this cozy green area, there are many well-equipped trails, paths and playgrounds that are convenient for walking, relaxing and practicing a wide variety of sports: dance floors, rope parks, bike paths, zorbing tracks, stables, mini zoo, etc.
The metro station and Filevsky Park (one of the capital's largest recreation areas) are located, as noted above, on the western outskirts of Moscow, which is a cozy place for many citizens.
A brief history of the area
In the middle of the 17th century, the forests surrounding the village of Fili were royal hunting grounds. At the end of the century, the Great Peter transferred the village to the ownership of Naryshkin Lev Kirillovich (brother of the king's mother). The Naryshkin family owned the lands for more than 150 years, moreover, later they also acquired the neighboring village of Kuntsevo, where their estate was founded. The year 1763 is significant in that in Fili L. Naryshkin was visited by Catherine II, who favored him then.
Fili also went down in history as the venue for the military council during the war of 1812. It was on it that the commander-in-chief of the army M. Kutuzov decided to surrender Moscow to the enemy. And the meeting was held in the hut of a simple peasant Frolov.
It should be noted that Napoleon's soldiers during the offensive desecrated the village temple and burned part of the village. The consequences of that fire were eliminated over time. This village is also significant in that by the end of the 19th century, a large dyeing and printing enterprise of the merchant Sergei Kuzmichev was located on its territory.
Fili was included in Moscow in 1935, later, in 1947, the very magnificent park of culture and recreation that is known now.
Filevsky Park metro station
You can see her photo above. The station was named after the nearby park. This is one of several stations in Moscow where ticket offices are located right behind the turnstiles.
The station has two fully glazed vestibules, which can be reached from the central zone of the platform. Both exits from the Filevsky Park metro station lead to the same street, but it should be noted that one of them closes earlier (at 22:00).
Design and scheme
The ground station, designed according to the design of the island platform, is installed on a precast concrete frame. The columns hold the overpass of Minskaya Street and the canopy over the platform. Architects Cheremin and Pogrebnoy worked on the design of a ground station with an island platform. The construction was carried out quite economically, and therefore the works were inexpensive compared to other stations.
From the vestibules the stairs lead to the street. Malaya Filevskaya, Oleko Dundich and Seslavinskaya. The eastern lobby was completely renovated in 2003. The West Lobby, as noted above, closes at 10:00 PM.
