No one is forgotten

Mikhailovskoye museum-reserve has endured many troubles. This is the February revolution of 1918, when not a single thousand estates of the Pskov region were ruthlessly burned. Among them, Trigorskoye, Petrovskoye, and Mikhailovskoye burned down. Only the nanny's small house and the huge stone barn built by Pushkin's son were saved from the fire. In 1931-1934, a pig-breeding complex was located in this protected area.

In the year of the centenary of the death of A. S. Pushkin (1937), the Mikhailovskoye Museum-Reserve was restored, but not for long, as the Great Patriotic War broke out. The Germans captured the Pskov region, and occupied the territory of the reserve. Part of the buildings of the village was completely destroyed, and part was disfigured, Mikhailovskoye has changed beyond recognition.

Second wind

The history of restoration began in 1945, when Semyon Stepanovich Geychenko became the director of the museum-reserve.

This is an ascetic who went through the war, a great enthusiast and admirer of the great poet, in addition, he is a museum worker and a native of Peterhof. This man had to restore numerous buildings from the ruins, eliminate dugouts, put in order the parks and the surroundings of the reserve. S. S. Geychenko fulfilled his task with brilliance and even achieved that the territoryof the historical museum-reserve began to look exactly the same as in the time of the poet himself. He restored Trigorskoe, Mikhailovskoye, Petrovskoye, museums appeared and the "Water Mill" in the village of Bugrovo, and the "Pushkin Village". Under him, the Holy Dormition Svyatogorsky Monastery was revived, which was given with great difficulty. This object caused special battles, and each time it was necessary to prove that it is needed and important for posterity.

A. S. Pushkin is important for visitors to the reserve, and A. S. Pushkin and S. S. Geichenko are important for museum staff. Both of them are legendary.

Huge and invaluable contribution to the development of the Museum S. S. Geichenko. His plans are being carried out to our time, the territory is expanding and the Museum-Reserve is being transformed. Mikhailovskoye is expanding, and in 1995 the Voskresenskoye and Golubovo estates were added. The settlement of Velye joined along with the village of the same name.

It is impossible to walk around the entire territory of the reserve in one day, because now the area of the museum is more than 9,000 hectares. It attracts with its secluded corners, the beauty of its nature. Everything around is Pushkin. "Mikhailovskoe" is distinguished not only by reconstructed buildings and things, but also by long paths, hills, quiet lakes and wooden bridges over the water. Here, all buildings, landscape, forests and parks are guarded by a special service. Very old trees have been preserved, for example, there is an oak planted by the poet's grandfather, as well as the notorious Anna Kern Alley, which was founded in the time of Hannibal.

Having once visited the museum-reserve "Mikhailovskoe", admirers of the work of A. S. Pushkin come back here again. Someone here celebrates the birthday and death of the great poet, someone attends festivals and museum events. Creative people come here for inspiration, and nature lovers catch simple fish in the lakes and pick mushrooms in the forests. And someone, having rented a bicycle at a camp site, rides along the paths that Pushkin himself once walked. If you go to the outskirts of Mikhailovskoye, you will see a picturesque view of the Malenets and Kuchane lakes, the Sorot river and Savkina Gorka. Standing in the famous Petrovsky Park on the shore of a small lake Kuchane, you can admire its beauty, the Mikhailovskoye estate and Savkina Gorka. How to get there

If you are traveling to its territory in a private car, you must purchase a coveted pass in advance on the territory of the Scientific and Cultural Center of the Pushkin Reserve. It is located at: st. Novorzhevskaya, building 21 in the village of Pushkinskiye Gory. The price depends on the number of seats in the transport: the more seats in the car, the higher the price of the pass. For example, a car for 7 or less passengers will cost 200 rubles. If there are more places, then the pass to the reserve will be more expensive.
