The fact that London is the capital of Great Britain, we know from the school English course. But now, when many people actively travel around the world, London is no longer just a picture in a textbook, and you can see it with your own eyes. And not only to see. You can wander through the streets where Sherlock Holmes himself walked and Peter Pan flew by. And when you go out to the Thames, you can see the Ferris wheel.

In London, as in many cities, there is such a fascinating attraction. It was designed and built by architects Julia Barfield and David Marks. The height of the wheel is 135 meters, which is equal to the height of a 45-storey building. In order to install such a hulk, the parts were floated down the Thames and, already assembled on the water, were installed in a vertical position.

Any tourist, going to visit the capital of Great Britain, asks himself the question of what sights in London should be seen first. Undoubtedly, this list will include St. Paul's Cathedral, Buckingham Palace, TowerBridge. This is something that is simply necessary to visit, and then everyone decides for himself. Someone is interested in the Museum of Natural History, and someone will choose the British Museum, but the Ferris wheel in London, standing on the banks of the Thames, is also interesting because you can take a kind of sightseeing tour on it, looking at the city from a bird's eye view.

The Ferris wheel in London is considered the largest in the world and even listed in the Guinness Book of Records. And since May 2000, it has been open to tourists, instantly becoming popular on a par with such world-famous London attractions as Big Ben and the Tower. 8 years after the opening, the British proudly announced that during this time the Ferris wheel was visited by 30 million people.

There are 32 enclosed transparent egg-shaped booths on the wheel. They are designed in such a way that the view is 360 degrees. For the convenience of visitors, the cabins are equipped with air conditioning. Cabin seating is available, of course, but most tourists prefer to stand to see as much as possible. The capacity of the cabin is designed for 25 people, but as practice shows, usually there are no more than 10-12 people in it. The cabin makes a full turn in about half an hour, thus allowing you to see the city for 40 km in all directions. Since the attraction is popular, the prices for it are quite high (about 20 pounds sterling for an adult and 15 for a child over 5 years old). True, there is a so-called family ticket for 4 people and its costwill be about 50 pounds. You can also take a whole cabin and ride it together.

To visit the Ferris wheel in London, you need to take the tube to Waterloo station and walk from there. But then, going upstairs, you can also see the metro station from which you left, and see where you will go when you go down to the ground. Because then, walking, you will remember how you watched it all from above, and try to compare what you saw.

All countries and cities are interesting in their own way, and when choosing a route, everyone is guided by personal preferences. Great Britain is also fraught with many secrets and mysteries. London will be different for everyone, and the memories after visiting will also be very personal, but it will be impossible to forget the bird's eye view of the city.
