There are a lot of beautiful places in the world where everyone should definitely visit at least once in their life. There are some that are life threatening. One of these places is Snake Island. Gorgeous nature, clear blue water would make it a wonderful resort. However, you definitely won’t risk spending a vacation here. Here you will not find any luxury hotels or shops. No one lives on the island: neither people nor mammals. The entire area is covered with forests and rocks.

Locals don't call the island "Snake" for nothing. Twelve thousand poisonous snakes live here. Among them there is one of the most poisonous - spear-headed. Its poison, once in the body of a living being, acts very quickly. It causes tissue death and, as a result, death. According to statistics, there are about five most dangerous individuals per square meter of land here. In this regard, the likelihood of a fatal outcome when visiting is incredibly high. In order to avoid accidents, the Brazilian authorities have banned visiting the Snake Island. Brazil is very close, the island is only 35 kilometers from the state of Sao Paulo. The poison of local reptiles has a rapid effect on the entire body. Under its influence, protein begins to decompose, which causes almost instantaneous death. Such an immediate effect of the poison is due to the fact that the main source of food for snakes are birds. In order for the victim to be unable to fly away, it must be quickly immobilized. In addition to birds, snakes feed on lizards.

Snake Island is a truly hellish place. It would be perfect for a horror movie set. And thischaracterization is far from exaggerated. Daredevils who tried to approach the shore could observe stones with tangles of snakes. Such a sight scares even the most fearless.

Despite the horror that the Snake Island inspires people, it is unique, the largest natural serpentarium on Earth. Due to numerous requests from environmentalists, the island has been recognized as a nature reserve since 1985 and taken under state protection.
