Few people know that the ethnonym "Chuvash", from which the name of the republic came, is translated from Tatar as "peaceful, hospitable". The Chuvash Autonomous Republic was formed in the 20th year of the last century. It is pleasant to note that Finno-Ugric, Turkic and Slavic peoples, as well as people of the Muslim faith lived peacefully together on this land. And there has never been an inter-ethnic war here. The monument with the famous Afghan motto was opened in 2012 in the village of Krasnoarmeyskoye. It is easy to understand that it is dedicated to the military who gave their lives for peace in Afghanistan. It depicts a MI-24 helicopter, a laurel branch and a star of the hero.

Chuvash National Museum

Located in Cheboksary. This building contains more than 160,000 various exhibits, including archaeological, botanical, documentary, geological, paleontological andnumismatic collections. The mansion itself, its facade attracts. This is a two-story building with an attic floor. It seems modern, built quite recently, but it is already a century old! Before the museum was opened here, it was a merchant's mansion.

Patron Mother

The monument is also located in Cheboksary and was erected with funds raised during the organization of a charitable foundation by the first president of the Republic of Chuvashia. Landmarks always amaze with their majesty or ethnic component. The sculpture is quite high: it rises on a hill, right on the shore of the Chuvash Bay. This is a woman dressed in a national dress and spreading her arms in different directions, as if hugging someone or the whole world.

Victory Memorial Park

It is noteworthy that, located on the highest point, this park is visible from any district of Cheboksary. Memorial as a tribute to those who died in the war, and not only. Those who performed a feat, risking their lives. The Great Patriotic War is reflected by the image of a mother woman holding a banner in her hand. Next to her, kneeling down, is a young soldier. It was installed in 1980.

In 1996, a monument was opened to those who fought in the Caucasus. Three years later, the chapel of the patron saint of warriors, St. John, was consecrated. Next in the memorialIn the park, a monument to the liquidators of the Chernobyl accident appeared, a year later - to the soldiers-internationalists who died in Afghanistan. Even later, an alley of glory and a fountain were opened in honor of those who died in the Great Patriotic War.

Cathedral Square

This is an architectural ensemble in Novocheboksarsk. The area is very beautiful, landscaped. A bronze sculpture of Prince Vladimir is installed on a granite pedestal, behind him are the main gates, which are three arches: the largest is the middle one, on the sides of it are two slightly smaller ones. Three paths lead to the stone Cathedral Temple, located on the square, in the center of which there is a fountain. There is also an icon shop, a chapel and even a hotel.

Baideryakovskiy spring

Located in the village of Baderyakovo. This is a natural-historical complex, which includes a spring and green spaces. Tourists and local residents are attracted by a small building erected in 1912 - at the same time when the spring was arranged. It hides the complex plumbing system. But from the outside, this is a magnificent architectural creation, which is located in the Republic of Chuvashia. The sights open the curtain on a completely different era.

The Sovereign Hill of Mariinsky Posad

The most important tourist attraction that is usually visited first. A century and a half ago, when the city of Mariinsky Posad was still the village of Sundyre, I unexpectedly came hereCatherine the Great. Needless to say, the Empress was (in a good way) shocked by the beauty of this area? At the most picturesque point of the beautiful site, the local nobility gave her a solemn reception, combined with dinner. And it was after the visit of Catherine and her dinner on this mountain that the hill became known as the Sovereign. Soon, near the mountain, work began on the creation of the Catherine's oak grove. Now the oaks are already majestic, "adult" and are a treasure that the Republic of Chuvashia keeps. The sights are best viewed during the daytime.

Kazan Church of Mariinsky Posad

The Church of Our Lady of Kazan was built in 1761 at the expense of parishioners. Later, in 1889, a certain merchant named Lavrenty Matveevsky donated money to the temple, which made it possible to add limits and install a bell tower. Externally, the church seems asymmetrical because of the extension. But what can I say, because both outside and inside the temple is magnificent, unusual, beautiful.

In the 30s of the last century, the building began to be given to various enterprises. And the stable, and the automatic telephone exchange, and the warehouse, and the dining room - there was nothing there. As a result, the church was abandoned, and only in the 90s was again given to believers. No restoration has been carried out here, the building looks very old, some paintings have not been preserved. But there is something in this primevalness, something that attracts to this temple in the Republic of Chuvashia. Attractions do not always have to be presented in palatial splendor.
