The coastline of Greater Sochi is 160 km of pebble beaches, which are interspersed with bulwarks and breakwaters. Vacationers crowd on its well-equipped embankments in summer, who spend the sunset hours in the languid coolness of the sea breeze.

There is more than one embankment in Sochi. Each district of the resort (Lazarevsky, Adlersky, Khostinsky and Central) has its own place for an evening promenade.

After dusk, the city's coastline is lit up with neon lights, beating to the rhythm of incendiary rhythms. Tourists tired of the generous sun gather imposingly under the snow-white domes of cafes and eateries.

Stone chains

In Central Sochi, the embankment is located half an hour walk from the building of the seaport. Its beginning is marked by a sculptural group, a symbol and a visiting card of the city - Semyon Semyonovich Gorbunkov with his family from the film "The Diamond Hand".

In Sochi, the embankment begins at the port property. Round-bodied yachts, boats and motor ships are moored to the pier of the sea station. Loud-voiced barkers vying with each other offer a ride on ships of all stripes and calibers.

The coastline is neatly paved with paving slabs and has a neat, smartview. A huge number of souvenir shops and restaurants serving dishes of Caucasian cuisine are concentrated on it.

Places of Glory

In Sochi, the embankment is not just a place for meetings and walks. With an ancient history, it boasts several attractions at once.

First, we are talking about the building of the lighthouse. It was erected at the end of the 19th century. Next to it rises the concert hall "Festivalny". Despite its sufficient age, the lighthouse still illuminates the sea surface with a soft greenish glow.

Secondly, one cannot fail to mention the bell tower, which is part of the overall architectural ensemble of the Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel. It was erected in honor of the end of the Caucasian war, becoming part of the first Orthodox church built on the Black Sea territory of Russia.

Sea Promenade

The central embankment of the resort is an integral part of the evening promenade, which is traditionally performed by all vacationers in Sochi. Adjacent to the pier is the city's main pedestrian artery lined with street cafes, outdoor terraces and craft shops.

People come here to drink a cup of aromatic coffee, enjoy sweets, taste meat or fish cooked on hot coals in an open brazier. There is also a water park "Mayak". It operates from mid-May until the end of October.

The Festivalny Concert Hall is located opposite the water complex. The capacity of the main hall is 2500 spectators. Every summer on its stage performpopular stars of domestic and foreign stage.

Hotels and hotels

Like the sails stretched by the wind, high-rise buildings rise along the Black Sea coast of Sochi in an endless series. The first line of the resort is entirely owned by fashionable and luxurious hotel complexes.

Almost all hotels on the Sochi embankment have their own beaches and are within walking distance of the main tourist attractions.

Pools, tennis courts, parks, flower gardens and impeccable service - this is what distinguishes hotels located in the heart of the city. Most of them are assigned categories 4 and 5 of the international star classification.

Olympic embankment

Sochi's Olympic embankment is another place of pilgrimage for resort guests, a symbol of the city's Olympic district. The official date of construction is 2014. Its opening was timed to coincide with the start of the Winter Olympic Games.

The embankment stretches for six kilometers, which stretch from the Fisht stadium to the very Russian-Abkhazian border. It encircles the entire Olympic village with a narrow border of gray pebbles.

Unlike the coastline of Central Sochi, it is quiet. There are no assorted stalls and counters littered to the top with beach accessories. Despite the almost complete absence of any entertainment venues, the embankment seems cozy.

Somewhere on it you can see the tops of straw umbrellas, throwinglong oblique shadows on sunbeds. Cyclists and roller skaters scurry along the smooth paved paths. Viewing platforms offer a breathtaking view of the bluest Black Sea.
