Park "Feofaniya", whose photo adorns almost all tourist guides in Kyiv, is one of the important sights of the capital of Ukraine. Maybe he is not a “must see”, like Independence Square, Vladimirskaya Gorka or Pecherskaya Lavra. But if you decide to spend a couple of days in Kyiv, then you need to go to Feofaniya. History
The territory on which the modern park "Feofaniya" is located was first mentioned in the annals,dated 1471. It was then called Lazarivshchina - after the name of a pious old man who kept an apiary here. In the sixteenth century, this site belonged to the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, and then it was acquired by the Kyiv Metropolitan Peter Mogila. His successor Sylvester Kosov (1647-1657) transferred the land to the ownership of the St. Sophia Monastery. Only in 1776 the property was withdrawn from the possessions of the church and transferred to the state treasury. But in 1802 the land was again transferred to the churchmen. Bishop Feofan of Kyiv built here a summer residence and St. Michael's Church. Then this territory began to be called by the name of its owner. Until 1930 there was also a monastery here. For a long time there was a boarding school and a cooperative farm, until in 1972 these lands became a monument of landscape art.
Where is the park "Feofaniya" (Kyiv), how to get to it
This recreational area is located on the southwestern outskirts of the city. When visiting the park, be prepared to walk up and down, as it occupies a mountainous Feofanovskaya ravine, cut by ravines. Several fixed-route taxis run to this part of the city from the center. Number 548 departs from Bessarabskaya Square, passing along Gorkogo Street and Lybidskaya metro station. You can also use the minibus number 172. It leaves Leningradskaya Square and goes through Druzhba Narodov and Lybidskaya metro stations, and also passes VDNKh.
If you are going to visit Feofaniya Park on a summer weekend, you should know how to get there in advance. Weekends markedMinibuses run only to VDNKh (Pirogovo). Therefore, you should get off at the stop "Metrological Street" and walk to the Church of St. Panteleimon. It is located at the address: Academician Lebedev Street, 19. In fact, this is already a park. You look around the cathedral and the monastery, and then turn right and go down a little.
Park "Feofaniya" in Kyiv: cost
Despite the fact that this place has the status of a monument of garden art since 1972, for a long time the entrance to it was free. But it was difficult for the city authorities to maintain such a vast territory. Therefore, since 2012, entry fees have been charged. Be prepared to fork out ten hryvnia for an adult and five more for a child. Residents of Kiev, for whom "Feofaniya" is a favorite place for recreation and picnics, get a monthly subscription. It costs fifty hryvnia. Pensioners, disabled people, veterans of the war and the ATO, the entrance remains free. The park administration provides various services for money. So, for a tour in Ukrainian, English or Russian, you will be asked for 120 hryvnias, for a wedding photo shoot - 250, and for organizing a banquet or corporate party - a thousand hryvnias. The park is open until 11 pm.

Park "Feofaniya" is an amazing mixture of natural and man-made landscapes. The park also has a cascade of lakes inhabited by waterfowl. Ancient oaks, which are more than three hundred years old, have been preserved on the territory. The estate of Academician Palladin, President of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, has been preserved on the territory of the park.
