A small but very diverse zoological park will bring joy to everyone. Visitors instantly enter the world in which animals, birds, fish live. What else the zoo can surprise with is described later in the article.

History of Creation

It all started forty years ago. The former chairman of the city executive committee at that time, Nikolai Georgievich Yakhontov, took the initiative in creating the zoo, and also contributed financially to this.

However, in the 90s, a critical moment came - the animals became smaller and they began to starve. Many leaders have changed, and this has not led to anything good.

But when Osipov Alexander Ivanovich became the director, the construction of a hay shed, the strengthening of cages, the reconstruction of the roof over the Winter Garden, and the construction of a grain warehouse began immediately. Further, a summer gazebo for birds, a veterinary corner, and new aviaries and dwellings for animals have been built on the territory.

Great efforts were made to form the collection, and as a result, the number of species increased three times, and there were nine more copies. The zoo has become not only a home, but also a birthplace for animals. Lipetsk became one of the few cities inwhich first appeared aquaterrarium. At the moment, boas and anacondas, skinks, bearded dragons and many other species of exotic animals live there.

Twelve years ago Lipetsk Park became a member of the Euro-Asian Regional Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EARAZA). He also takes part in projects that focus on the breeding and conservation of rare species of animals.

In 2005, the opening of the branch of the Lipetsk Zoo "Bird Paradise" took place. It is located in the cultural park of the city of Michurinsk. More than 35 different species of animals were presented for visitors to Bird Paradise.

Today, in the zoo's aquaterrarium, you can get acquainted with the boa constrictor, anaconda, skinks, trionix, snake turtles and others. In more than ten aquariums there are fish of unusual sizes and different shades. Zoo guests also admire catfish that swim belly up, admire restless barbs and devoted cichlids.

About 30 species of animals that live in the menagerie are on the list of the Red Book of Russia.

Ligers also live there - these are the largest cats in the world, which belong to the rarest species of predators. The largest area in the zoo is occupied by ungulates.

The lake is large enough, and in the very center you can see bird houses. Nearby is an interesting fountain in the form of a heron, from the beak of which water flows. ATvarious representatives of the duck family swim in the lake.

Thanks to links with zoological parks in other cities, there is an exchange of animals and various kinds of information, which accordingly replenishes the number of inhabitants of the paradise.

For little visitors

For the most mobile fidgets in the very center of the park there is a "Children's entertainment complex", which is open until October. It attracts kids with its colorful color scheme, as well as the fact that the playground, attractions and the petting zoo are located next to each other. Everything has been created so that little visitors can approach, feed and pet the animals safely and without fear.

Children's petting zoo is a home of specially tamed various animals in which it is allowed to communicate with children. Careful selection of inhabitants excludes aggression on humans. At the same time, security measures are provided in the contact zoo: an employee is on duty who has everything necessary for first aid.

Flower Garden
