The cities of Donetsk and Zaporozhye are large administrative and cultural centers of Ukraine. Traveling around Ukraine is often not complete without a trip from one city to another.
Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya - location of cities
The city of Donetsk is located in the East of Ukraine, on the Kalmius River. Founded in 1969. In 2014, 929 thousand people lived in it. At the moment, due to the unstable military situation in Ukraine, an accurate count of the people living is not possible. To the west of it, on the Dnieper River, there is another large city - Zaporozhye, which is no less significant for Ukraine. The date of its foundation is 952. It has almost 749 thousand people.

Donetsk - Zaporozhye: distance, route and travel time
The distance between cities is 230 kilometers. It can be overcome by bus or by car.
1. If you decide to take the bus, there are several possible routes:
- Straightflight. When traveling in the direction of Donetsk - Zaporozhye, the route will pass through the city of Kurakhovo, the village of Pokrovskoe, the city of Volnyansk. Travel time will be 8 hours 30 minutes.
- Flight with a transfer in the city of Dnipro. This route will take longer. The journey from Donetsk to the Dnieper will take 9 hours, and from the Dnieper to Zaporozhye - about two more hours. In total, you will spend about 11 hours on the road. Obviously, the route without transfers is more preferable and convenient.
Do not forget that the indicated travel time is approximate, it is advisable to clarify the exact time in advance at the ticket office of the stations.
2. When traveling by car, the journey will take about four hours, excluding stops and traffic jams. In less than an hour you will reach the city of Kurakhovo, in two and a half hours you will pass the village of Pokrovskoye. After about three and a half hours you will find yourself in the city of Volnyansk, and after four hours you will arrive in Zaporozhye. Be sure to factor in stop times if you need to get to your destination by a certain point. Consider ahead of time your options for fuel stops, as well as how much time you will need for rest, personal needs, and meals. Usually these needs will take an hour. The total travel time, including stops, will be about five hours.
Trip cost
The cost of a bus trip on the route Donetsk - Zaporozhye will be 1300 rubles, or 634 hryvnia. If you travel with a transfer in the city of Dnipro, the ticket price will be 1770 rubles or 864 hryvnia.
If you decide to drive your own car, the estimated cost will depend on the type of your vehicle. Let's look at the options:
- Car. With a fuel consumption of eight liters per 100 kilometers, to overcome a given route, we need 18.4 liters of fuel. With a fuel price of 35 rubles per liter, the approximate cost of the trip will be 644 rubles. At the current exchange rate (1 hryvnia is equal to 2.05 rubles), this is 314 hryvnia.
- Truck. With a fuel consumption of thirty liters per 100 kilometers, we need 69 liters of fuel. Thus, the cost of the trip will be equal to 2415 rubles, or 1178 hryvnias.
