History of the area
Earlier, Bald Mountain was covered with dense forest. It received this name after cutting down the trees of the forest for the construction of the bell tower of the Assumption Cathedral. This happened in the 20s of the 19th century. For a long time, the spring water of the district drowned the villages of Panasovka and Ivanovka. The situation changed only in the 60s of the same century, when builders laid railroad tracks and carried out drainage work.
The area was first settled by the poor in 1840. The people who lived on Lysa Gora did not have the money to maintain their homes in good condition. From the second half of the 19th century(70-80s) the area was populated by simple workers who worked at the railway station. Also at that time, workers from the brewery and ceramic factories settled on Lysaya Gora.
Since 1898, the construction of the Orthodox Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was carried out on Leningradskaya Street. It was erected in 1912 according to the design of the diocesan architect Vladimir Nemkin on the land of a we althy merchant and resident of Kharkov - Konstantin Utkin. It was he who gave the go-ahead for the construction of the church. He donated 3,000 rubles to it and contributed in every possible way to the construction work. The church is still active today. It has never been closed, which makes it unique. Also, this church is an architectural monument of the city of Kharkiv.
A kindergarten was opened on Lysa Gora at the beginning of the 20th century. It was built for the children of workers and the simple poor and accommodated 100 children, who were looked after and looked after by two educators.
In the 1920s, the village of Krasny Oktyabr began to be built on the top of the mountain. Low-rise residential buildings were built in it, the apartments of which were distributed to railway workers.
Current years
Now Lysaya Gora is divided into two parts: a village and a modern city. Because of this, the area is called a place of contrasts. Here you can buy a variety of real estate. In the city are available for purchase hotels (from 9 to 19 sq. m.), one -, two -, three - and more room apartments. Their price depends on the total area and housing condition.
