The Greek Visa Application Center was created to make life easier for those tourists who want to admire ancient monuments, visit the famous islands of Greece, soak up the beach and try Greek cuisine. In other words, when the flow of tourists to this country became so great that the consulate could no longer handle the issuance of visas, it was decided to entrust this matter to a third-party organization. This is called the buzzword "outsourcing", that is, the use of the forces and capabilities of a hired structure to perform certain functions. You can outsource any service - and visa processing is no exception.
The Greek Visa Application Center has its own specialization. He deals exclusively with short-term visas - those that are issued for short-term visits. In international practice, such trips are considered to be trips, the total duration of which in total is no more than 90 days within six months. The Greek Visa Application Center works with tourists who are sent by travel companies, with thoseguests of the country who go there at the invitation of relatives or acquaintances, with businessmen and other people who go to Greece on business. In particular, a short-stay visa is issued to participants in various international congresses, conferences and seminars that take place in this country, athletes and artists who come to perform, as well as truck drivers who carry goods to or from there.
Alas, we must admit that the Greek Visa Application Center does not work for free. The minimum cost of a visa, which was at the time of registration at the consulate, has increased significantly. And the decrease in queues has led to an increase in the cost of tourists. Under an agreement with the European Union, the reduced cost of obtaining a Schengen visa for Russians should be 35 euros. But this agreement does not apply to third-party services. That is why an ordinary tourist often has to pay 70 euros - this includes not only a consular, but also an additional service fee for the urgency of registration. On the other hand, if you compare this price with the price of companies specializing in urgent visa processing for various periods, then these prices will seem ridiculously low.
The Greek visa center in Moscow does not provide its services for the majority of residents of the European part of Russia. In addition to it, there are similar centers in St. Petersburg, Novorossiysk, Samara, Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Vladivostok. In other words, they are as close as possible to the Russians, soin love with sunny Greece. However, the use of their services is not mandatory. After all, more than one Greek consulate operates in our country, which has its own “controlled” territories, whose residents can freely use their services. In particular, there are consulates not only in Moscow, but also in St. Petersburg and Novorossiysk. Documents from more numerous visa centers eventually flow to these three consulates.
