Myanmar (old Burma) is a country of thousands of golden pagodas and precious stones, where sapphires and rubies are mined in unthinkable quantities. For an inquisitive traveler, it opens up real wonders. Naypyidaw is the current capital of Myanmar, until 2005 it was the city of Yangon (Rangoon). Throughout history, the capital has been moved several times due to unfavorable forecasts of astrologers, but the last transfer was made to ensure strategic security.
Burma is called the country of golden pagodas, their number is approaching two and a half thousand. The most famous pagoda is Shwe Dagon, its height is 100 meters. In addition to the pagodas, there are many other attractions in the country.
In the city of Amarapura (the ancient capital of Myanmar), it is worth seeing the largest wooden bridge on earth (length 1.2 km). It was built from teak wood in the 18th century. At a height of 3 meters above the water, it is supported by 1086 piles.
Echoes of the distant past, the ruins of entire cities overgrown with jungles, have been preserved in Burma. And there are a lot of museums scattered all over the country, there is something to see here. But an ordinary touristfirst of all, it attracts the opportunity to relax by the warm ocean.
On the shore of the Bay of Bengal, near the village of Ngapali, the main fashionable resort is being built. The work is still far from being completed, so local fishermen live their usual lives here. And the bay has retained its original appearance with clean sand and clear water. The water of the bay is warm (25-30 degrees). Hotels in the form of bungalows with all amenities are hidden in the coastal greenery, and a strip of equipped beach stretches for three kilometers along the bay.

Basically, a few Europeans and Americans, who are prone to solitude, rest here. The Russians have not yet chosen this fertile corner.
Stepping outside the hotel, you immediately find yourself in the center of the natural life of provincial Burma. On both sides of the road, fields are seen being plowed by peasants using buffaloes. Between the huts with thatched roofs, women walk, carrying loads on their heads. rollsa two-wheeled cart pulled by buffaloes. On an old bicycle, a fisherman delivers a nightly catch to customers. A truck full of people hums.
There is a village market in a cul-de-sac. There is no abundance here, because this is not the capital of Myanmar, but there is everything necessary for the villagers. On the shelves - vegetables and fruits, rice, huge bars of soap, irons that are heated by coals, kerosene, clothes and even flowers. Goods are weighed on balance-beams, batteries are used instead of weights.
Myanmar is a country of Buddhism, so the open trade in soft drugs is surprising. The market sells betel leaves beautifully arranged in baskets - a local intoxicating plant. Opium smoking is common. But Buddhism forbids drugs.
The Burmese are amazingly friendly and peaceful. Wherever you are, be it a remote village or the capital of Myanmar, everywhere you will meet the kind attitude of the indigenous people who are happy to help in any way. There is a delicate, unobtrusive interest in foreigners here, people willingly keep up the conversation, and the smile never leaves their faces. In popular tourist places, everyone can explain themselves in English.
A restaurant located on the shore requires a special story. In the morning, guests are served breakfast, European or local traditional. Plenty of fruits and juices. Evening is gourmet time. Seated at a table on the outdoor terrace, you order something sumptuous
marine. Watching the sunset while waiting for your mealaccompanied by the sounds of the sea. It gets dark quickly. On the table, the waiter lights candles, brings cold beer. With the onset of darkness, a fire is lit on the shore, sparks from which are carried away into the starry sky. And when dinner is over, you get a pleasant surprise - the bill is only 4-7 dollars.
